Offers, as resources allow, to help refugees and asylees reach economic self-sufficiency and to them with any problems, interests and concerns they may have. The Bureau of Refugee Services works to serve as a central clearinghouse in order to refer refugees and asylees to any resource necessary and available to them. The Bureau is the service agency for all refugees enrolled in FIP, the state welfare reform program. Now offering a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) program. This program will help participants prepare for the class, enroll into the DMACC CDL program at no cost, and obtain a job after completion. Participants will also qualify for “Jump Start” training specially designed to help English Language Learners.

Offers animal assisted therapy which works to enhance well-being and reduce stress through the bond with animals. This therapy integrates animals as key elements in treatment, assisting therapists in creating and sustaining effective, solution-focused programs.

LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 – August 15; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.

Some applicants may qualify for the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP), where an eligible client pays a percentage of their income, receives a monthly benefit towards their utility bill, and receives a reduction in overdue payments for every on-time payment they make by the bill due date. If the homeowner's furnace is not working or is dangerous or emitting carbon monoxide into the household, LIHEAP may be able to provide a furnace repair or replacement. Contact for more information.

**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

Offers the Coffee's On program, the Indoor Walking program and the Batavia Senior Citizens Club (BSCC).

- Coffee's On program offers a place where seniors can have coffee, play card, and converse.

• Indoor Walking Program offers a place for walking when weather does not permit outdoor activity.
• BSCC hosts monthly entertainment and informative programs followed by a refreshment/lunch and social period.

  Offers a Medical Assistance Program (MAP), driving services for individuals needing to get to medical appointments, lock box installations (secure emergency access into homes), and smoke and CO detector checks/installations/battery replacements through the Batavia Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

- MAP: Payment assistance for prescription medication co-pays and deductibles, annual stipend for dental services and hearing aid battery replacements.

Provides support to individuals affected by mental illness, education on mental health topics, and advocating for mental health awareness and resource withing the community.

NAMI Basics: A 6-session educational program for parents and caregivers of children and teens experiencing symptoms of mental illness or who have received a diagnosis.

NAMI Support Groups: Weekly peer-led groups for adults living with mental illness, as well as for family members and caregivers seeking support.

NAMI Educational Courses: Offers 3-4 times annually for individuals living with mental illness and for those who support them.

Immunizations for children ages 0-18. Most adult and travel immunizations also available.

Van transportation may be available for a fee.

Preparedness, response, and recovery from severe weather events, chemical spills, major accidents, and criminal terrorism.

Offers residential treatment programs for adults with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Programs serve men and women, women with children, young adults, veterans, and essential and frontline workers. Also offers medically monitored detox and withdrawal management.

Sober living recovery homes and halfway houses provide wraparound support for individuals in early recovery. Also offers supportive housing for individuals living with mental health disorders.

Adult outpatient services include therapy, specialty care such as TMS therapy and MAT, family support and education, psychiatric care, intensive community-based case management, and fulfillment of legal behavioral healthcare requirements related to court systems.

Offers behavioral health services to any child or adolescent in need. Services include psychiatry/medication management, individual therapy, family therapy, substance use disorder services/addiction treatment, crisis services (24/7 Crisis Line, Mobile Crisis, CSCBS), case management, peer support, care team/specialized services, and school-based services (where applicable).

Provides practical education, mentorship, and a community focused on accountability and excellence for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Offers support through real relationships and a focus on learning and growth. Builds collaboration and long-term plans to create lasting economic success.

Seniors can come in for Creative Senior Connections classes or have a Creativity on Wheels (COW) box delivered every other month. COW participants receive follow-up phone calls after receiving their boxes.

Offers several programs specifically designed to assist new farmers. Programs such as the Beginning Farmer Loan Program assists new farmers in acquiring farmland, buildings, machinery, equipment, or breeding livestock at reduced interest rates. Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program offers an incentive to landowners for leasing their farmland, machinery, or equipment to beginning farmers. Loan Participation Program helps secure down payment assistance for an agricultural purchase.
