Offers scholarships, amounts are dependent of funding levels, to income eligible individuals who are planning to attend accredited Illinois University, community college, technical or vocational schools. Preference is given to applicants of racial or ethnic minorities. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, textbooks, supplies, or room and board. Scholarship awards are made directly to the college or university's financial aid office for use by the student as needed.

The AABD program can also, in certain circumstances, provide essential items to qualified recipients such as guardian/conservator fees, home repairs, furniture, appliances, etc.
