Reimburses for funeral and burial expenses when a person's resources and all other sources of payment are less than the DHS standard payment rates. The maximum amount that DHS will pay is $1,370 for a funeral and $686 for a cremation/burial.

Provides the Premise Alert Program (PAP) is a safety program that supports individuals living with disabilities as well as First Responder (Police, Fire, Ambulance personnel) units responding to calls at a specific address. Investigates complaints regarding health or sanitation issues in child care centers.

Health and safety trainings to child care staff and provides child care health consultation services to local child care centers.

Services to help survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and immigrant survivors of violence and trafficking:

- Orders of Protection for people experiencing domestic violence.

- Divorce, custody, or child support in cases involving domestic violence or child endangerment.

- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.

- Other court orders to stop abuse, harassment, or stalking.

- Immigration issues faced by survivors of domestic violence and trafficking.

- Guardianships of minors and adults to ensure safety and stability.

Offers scholarships, amounts are dependent of funding levels, to income eligible individuals who are planning to attend accredited Illinois University, community college, technical or vocational schools. Preference is given to applicants of racial or ethnic minorities. Scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, textbooks, supplies, or room and board. Scholarship awards are made directly to the college or university's financial aid office for use by the student as needed.

Offers to protect the health of the public in the event of an emergency.

Works with Emergency Management and a wide range of community partners to keep the residents of the County safe. These partners represent the medical community, law enforcement, fire departments, schools, emergency management agencies and many other agencies on the local, state and federal level.

Provides victims and concerned citizens with a toll-free number they can call for up-to-date information on the custody and/or case status of an offender. Callers may choose to register for automatic notification through Illinois AVN.

Illinois AVN is also available online at the VINE website, a public website that allows visitors to search for offender custody and case status. Users can also register online for phone or e-mail notification of changes in an offender's custody and/or court case status.

Offers free Spot vision screening. The screening quickly detects indications of vision issues such as near-sightedness (myopia), far-sightedness (hyperopia), unequal refractive power (anisometropia), blurred vision, eye structure problems (astigmatism), pupil size deviations (anisocoria), and eye misalignment (strabismus). The program evaluates visual functioning and may recommend assistive technology products, such as visual or reading aids, to address identified needs. 

Offers medications, therapy, and peer support services to help patients with addictions move forward in their recovery. Provides treatment for opioids, alcohol, stimulants, and gambling use disorder.

- Naltrexone IR and ER (oral naltrexone and Vivitrol)

Behavioral Therapy:

- Group counseling

Provides in home medical services. Services include but not limited to skilled nursing, medication management, therapy (OT, PT, ST), and medical social worker services.

Counseling services addressing a range of issues, including:

-- Anger management.

-- Anxiety.

-- Child therapy.

-- Addiction.

-- Couples therapy.

-- Eating disorders.

-- Grief or bereavement.

-- Stress.

-- Suicide.

-- Etc.

Provides long-term care information which enables participants and their caregivers to make informed decisions based on the options available in their community.

Options discussed include home and community-based services like in-home care and adult day services, home-delivered meals, and other services available in their community.

Other options include supportive living facilities, assisted living facilities, and nursing facilities.

Financially assists individuals so that they can remain in the most appropriate living arrangement for their individualized needs. Eligible clients can reside in their own home, an apartment, an assisted living facility, a licensed mental health facility, a center for the developmentally disabled, a room and board situation, or in a nursing home.

The AABD program can also, in certain circumstances, provide essential items to qualified recipients such as guardian/conservator fees, home repairs, furniture, appliances, etc.

Collaborates with The Salvation Army to offer families comprehensive case management. Aims to improve financial stability, enhance employment prospects, and access community resources crucial for long-term success.

Offers support groups for seniors and their caregivers. Support groups being offered are Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Group (meetings held in Normal and Clinton), Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group (Zoom and in-person meetings held in Bloomington and Pontiac), and Caretakers Path Caregiver Support Group (Zoom and in-person meetings held in Bloomington).
