Clinics are held in Kewanee at the Health Department office.

Provides day and respite services, addresses individual needs and desires for care, for informed choices and the individual's vision for the future. OWL is an approved provider for the Brain Injury Waiver Program, which was created by Iowa State Legislature in 1996. Services provided through the program include, supported Community Living-designed to assist the consumer with daily living needs, which includes, but are not limited to, community skills, personal needs, budgeting, social skills, home management and individual advocacy.

Offers individuals with a serious mental illness the opportunity to work in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Clients will be given an opportunity to learn vocational skills, earn money, improve self-esteem, learn to work with others in a cooperative effort, and improve chances for future competitive employment. Individuals learn office skills, light industrial skills such as assembling, packaging, and housekeeping.

Offers to connect pregnant and parenting teens in the foster care system to community-based supportive services that can meet their unique needs including home visiting and doula services. Home Visiting programs providing specially-trained home visitors who work with parents to build their skills and promote their children’s healthy development.

Provides a resource center for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) information and services. Staff is available to meet with families and professionals to help determine what information and resources will best suit their needs. Supports and services are offered to assist individuals and their caregivers regarding all aspects of autism spectrum disorder.

Provides equine-assisted experiences to enhance the quality of life and cultivate personal growth through therapeutic, educational, recreational, and social development for persons with disabilities.

Programs improve physical capabilities and functional skills, as well as providing students with leisure time, physical activity, and social interaction.

Collects property taxes, conducts annual tax sale for delinquent taxes, processes vehicle transactions, driver's licenses, and issues motor vehicle titles and registrations.

RSAC Prevention Educators are available to present professional trainings to organizations, companies, agencies, and schools. Educators have curriculum for many presentations but are open to new topics.

Professional trainings offered regularly include RSAC services and referral, how to respond to disclosure, childhood abuse, typical sexual development vs. red flag behavior, responding to sexual harassment, sexual assault and abuse, play therapy and sand tray therapy, and trauma and The Window of Tolerance.

Provides weekly financial assistant for various essential needs, including rent, utility bills, and other necessities, gas for a vehicle or bus tokens. Ten calls are accepted Monday mornings, starting at 9 AM for help up to $35. This Helping Appointment assistance is provided to an individual no more than once every 90 days. Only referral agencies can request help with rent or utilities for individuals needing more than $35.

Applications are accepted as long as weekly funding is available.

Maintains parks and recreational and cultural facilities. Includes The Centre Family Recreation Facility, swimming pools, pavilions, zoo, tennis courts, and other amenities at local parks.

Responsible for areas of the physical environment that often have a direct bearing on health and well being including solid waste enforcement and management, food sanitation, new water wells.

Offers a medical equipment loan program including walkers, commodes, wheelchairs, shower chairs, canes, and crutches.

Offers behavioral health services for adults, including: individual, marital, family, and group therapy, psychiatric evaluation, anger management, and case management.

New and secondhand furniture offered at discounted prices. Provides mattresses at no cost to eligible individuals. Mattresses, box springs, and bunk beds available.

Loans out a limited selection of medical equipment including walkers, canes, shower seats, wheelchairs, and transfer seats. Items may be loaned for up to 90 days.
