Offers a goal oriented service in which a provider works one-on-one with an individual with disabilities to teach and assist with life skills. Services can be provided in the individual's home or in a community setting.
Central Library
Offers the use of your library card to help individuals and families check out area attractions for free. The pass can be checked out with a library card and allows free admittance to the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa and the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. The Adventure Pass must be printed when presented upon admission into the attractions along with a photo ID. Each pass allows admission for up to 4 people, including up to 2 adults and 2 children for both the Zoo and Botanical Garden. The Science Center of Iowa allows admission for up to 2 adults and 3 children, but a maximum of 4 people total may be admitted.

- Be placed with best-match organization based on their educational attainment, previous work experience and employer needs.
- Receive paid experience working in their desired industry or field.
- Have access to in-person and remote professional training, networking and hands-on experience in the civilian workplace.
Spouses who excel in their fellowship and are a good fit for their host company may be invited to join the employer as a direct hire at the end of the 12-week fellowship.

Responsible for the publication and mailing of assessment change notices on all taxable parcels. The office also maintains all records for homestead exemptions. Assists taxpayers with the filing of property tax exemptions and any questions they may have in understanding the assessment process for their property. Also collects all delinquent (past due) taxes from sold properties and issues tax deeds.
The tax redemption area computes and collects payments for past due or unpaid taxes.

The Bureau of Refugee Services works to serve as a central clearinghouse in order to refer refugees and asylees to any resource necessary and available to them. The Bureau is the service agency for all refugees enrolled in FIP, the state welfare reform program. Now offering a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) program. This program will help participants prepare for the class, enroll into the DMACC CDL program at no cost, and obtain a job after completion. Participants will also qualify for “Jump Start” training specially designed to help English Language Learners.
