Provides a Child Support Recovery Unit program to assist (both public assistance and non-public assistance) families with child support recovery.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together.

Vaccines available through the VFC Program are those recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). These vaccines protect babies, young children, and adolescents from certain diseases.

Administers probation supervision, pre-trial release, pre-sentence investigation, and parole services, including programs that oversee individuals under legal custody and facilitate movement between jurisdictions or facilities. 

Conducts bail hearings to determine release conditions, bail amounts, or detention status for individuals awaiting trial. Utilizes electronic monitoring technology, such as transmitters and location tracking equipment, to monitor offenders confined to their homes or awaiting judicial procedures. 

Offers low-risk probation for minimum supervision offenders with individualized court-ordered conditions to be completed within a designated timeframe.

A confidential, toll-free hotline for pregnant and postpartum individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Trained counselors are available to provide mental health support, as well as referrals to both community-based and telehealth providers as needed. Callers also will receive evidence-based information and referrals to support groups and other community resources.

Offers books, books on CD, magazines, newspapers, DVD'S, Literacy kits(story time in a box), games and Library of Things to be checked out by the patrons of the library.  Also offers puzzles for anyone ,no checkout needed. The Library of Things contains a variety of items ranging from art kits to robots to a metal detector. Library of Things items can only be checked out by adult library card holders.

Offers free tax preparation to low-income families. Appointment scheduling will begin during the first week of February 2026. 

Provides access to an on-call counselor through the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, offering support for individuals experiencing mental, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Services may include assistance with anxiety, depression, psychoses, adjustment reactions, and other mental health concerns, with a focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

In Norfolk there is a 20 unit apartment complex for eligible residents. Columbus offers 2 four-plex apartments for those who are eligible.

Provides information and referral, creates public awareness, fosters a supportive environment, raises funds for research, and facilitates mutual support groups for individuals with disabilities, illnesses, or other health conditions, as well as their families and friends. These groups offer opportunities to share information, resources, practical tips for daily living, and encouragement through in-person, telephone, or online meetings.

Provides a helpline to answer lung health questions. Registered nurses, respiratory therapists, and certified tobacco treatment specialists make up the helpline staff.

Provides information regarding:

• Quitting all forms of tobacco.
• Oxygen therapy resources.
• Managing chronic lung conditions (such as asthma, COPD, lung caner, and pulmonary fibrosis).
• Questions about medication, respiratory therapy, and pulmonary testing.
• Financial aid, medical equipment, and health insurance questions.
• Finding a doctor, medical specialist, or healthcare center.
• Connecting with support groups.
• Connecting with local resources to ensure continuity of care.

Educational and support group concerned with survivorship issues for people with a cancer history, their family, friends, or health care professionals.

Education presented by health care and community speakers.

Medical case management services to help persons living with HIV or AIDS manage their diagnosis and any other needs in order to live healthy and empowered lives.

• Have a confirmed diagnosis of a chronic disease, a life-threatening disease, or debilitating disease OR be seeking screening services related to symptoms or suspicion of a chronic, life-threatening or debilitating disease
• Be in active treatment, had treatment within the past 6 months, or going into treatment in the next 60 days
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.
• Be receiving treatment at a facility in the United States or one of its US territories
