Works to help individuals, including those facing significant employment barriers, secure and retain high-quality jobs. The program assists people in finding employment, funds training when needed to gain or retain a position, and provides assistance in obtaining work permits or official documentation required for work authorization.

The Adult Program serves people who are at least 18 years old and, if applicable, registered for Selective Service. The Dislocated Worker Program serves individuals registered for Selective Service who have lost their jobs and meet dislocated worker categories defined in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The Youth Program serves in-school youth (ages 14-21) and out-of-school youth (ages 16-24) who need assistance with training or education to enter the workforce successfully, with a focus on young people facing barriers to success. This includes government-subsidized summer employment programs that provide job opportunities in the public and private sectors during the summer months. Registration for these summer opportunities occurs during a spring application period.

Program designed to help overcome the fear of falling, set goals, and promote exercise.

Provides education for computer literacy skills, including navigating digital spaces, Google workplace tools, finding employment, and advancing in careers. Classes are offered virtually and in-person. Some classes are held at the Community Service Center of Northern Champaign County. Please call for the latest information.

Provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to veterans. Services include treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and OCD.

Medicare information and assistance signing up for a Medicare Part D plan.

Addresses needs related to protection of air, soil and water quality. Participates in blood lead environmental surveys, treatment and follow-up, water testing, well closure and septic system consultation, disposal of old medicines, business waste.

Provides emergency assistance and addresses the causes of poverty as a Community Action Agency. Services include housing assistance for rent and utilities, a food pantry, prescription assistance, and gas vouchers for medical appointments.

Early Head Start ensures that children (0-3 years of age) and their families receive the academic, social, mental, health, and nutritional education they need.

Head Start prepares children for Kindergarten and beyond. Also meets the nutritional, health, social and mental health needs of children and their families.

Offers to empower male youth to make positive life choices. Program provides participants with mentor/mentee matches, weekly group mentoring sessions, graduation ceremonies and special events. Locations vary within the Polk County area, including community and school-based sites.
