Services include:

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Holt County.

State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Provides low-income housing. Apartments located in West Frankfort, Sesser, Zeigler, Christopher, Benton, and West City. Offers Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), which subsidizes rent directly to the landlord.

Offers a variety of media (books, movies, music, ebooks, experience kits, magazines, etc.). The library’s peer learning events and classes support learning from birth, through student-life, and beyond. Also provides access to computers.

Provides practical information for anyone to access in the areas served. Education services include agriculture, horticulture, family and consumer economics, nutrition and wellness, and youth development. The website has information about different programming options available.

Provides disability I.D. hanging devices are offered through the Iowa Department of Transportation. Call for information. Applications are also available at county treasurer offices, driver license exam stations or Department of Human Rights, Persons With Disabilities Division. Must have a signed physician's or chiropractor's statement on the physician's or chiropractor's letterhead stationery verifying the person's disability and whether the disability is temporary or permanent.

Provides several mental health services. Services include mental health and recovery support groups, assessment and treatment planning, individual and family therapy, recovery support and case management, crisis intervention, and individual placement support employment services.
