The pass can be checked out with a library card and allows free admittance to the Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa and the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. The Adventure Pass must be printed when presented upon admission into the attractions along with a photo ID. Each pass allows admission for up to 4 people, including up to 2 adults and 2 children for both the Zoo and Botanical Garden. The Science Center of Iowa allows admission for up to 2 adults and 3 children, but a maximum of 4 people total may be admitted.

DCFS has the primary responsibility of protecting children and strengthening families through the investigation and intervention of suspected child abuse or neglect by parents and other caregivers.
