Funds may be available for Marshall County residents to purchase a driver's license, State ID and birth certificates. 

Offers SERVSAFE® classes for food service professionals, providing comprehensive training on food hazards, proper food handling practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure food safety and prevent foodborne-illness outbreaks. 

Provides a variety of services for children and families in order to support and facilitate recovery for mental illness, trauma, disruptive behavior disorders, family relationship problems, and school issues. Services include individual therapy, family therapy, parenting education and skill building, group therapy, consultation to schools and other agencies and psychiatric services.

Offers credit and non-credit classes and workshops throughout the year. Some of the workshops include gardening and landscape instruction, cooking classes, computer literacy training programs, arts and crafts instructions and continuing education. 

All DHS offices across the state are open for people to use as a warm/cool place to stay during office hours.

Provides women's health care services such as preventative care and health screenings (pap smears, breast exams), pregnancy testing, pregnancy/prenatal care, and other needed gynecology or obstetrician services for the patient.

Outpatient mental health services to enhance an individual's social, psychological, emotional, and intellectual well being in order to support them in achieving their quality of life goals.

Services may include individual, family and couples therapy. Areas of focus are often anxiety; anger; depression; grief; school or work related issues; behavioral concerns; family concerns; grief; eating disorders and relationship issues. Therapeutic methods include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Behavior Modification. Clinicians are also Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) trained and utilize DBT strategies as needed.

Special focus on developing services for those with more disabling mental illness with concurrent intellectual/developmental disability diagnoses.

Reimburses for funeral and burial expenses when a person's resources and all other sources of payment are less than the DHS standard payment rates. The maximum amount that DHS will pay is $1,370 for a funeral and $686 for a cremation/burial.

Program provides clothing and a toy for each child. Registration also includes a sign-up for a food basket. Deadline to register for aid is November 14, 2025. Can register by going to their office during the food pantry hours and completing a form. Pick-up is December 13, 2025, from 9 am-12 noon.

Provides urgent, clinical health care services to those in need on a first come, first served basis, no appointment necessary.

Men's shelter is a 6-month residential program.

Offers four apartment-style units with two bedrooms and is a six-month program intended to help move a man and his children to a better life by helping to overcome drug or alcohol dependence, providing life-skills training, educational opportunities, job readiness, and spiritual development.

Law enforcement agency.

Administers immigration and naturalization functions and establishes immigration services policies and priorities. It handles immigrant visa petitions, naturalization petitions, asylum and refugee applications and changes in green card status. In addition to the laws, forms, services, and educational information on immigration, the USCIS website also has information on filing immigration-related Freedom of Information/Privacy Act (FOIA) requests and a genealogy section with information about immigration history and how to find out more information about immigrant relatives. Under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), battered immigrants can petition for legal status in the United States without relying on abusive US citizen or legal permanent resident spouses, parents or children to sponsor them.

Offers a crisis line for families and survivors of sexual abuse, domestic abuse or any other violent crime. A specially trained advocate will answer the crisis line and assist in any matter pertaining to sexual abuse, domestic abuse, or any other violent crime by listening and providing information, support and referrals. The crisis line is staffed 24 hours a day year-round.

Provides emotional support, individual counseling, support groups and therapy. Offers support and information for significant others, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, children’s individual and group counseling, sheltering and housing services, along with general advocacy to help all community systems enhance their response to domestic abuse, sexual abuse or any other violent crime victims.

Provides end-of-life care for patients whose life expectancy is 6 months or less. Services include nursing care, social work and counseling, chaplain and physician support, and palliative care evaluations.

Provides substance use treatment services to those working through an addiction. Services include an Intensive Outpatient Program which consists of group counseling for individuals who abuse or are dependent on alcohol or drugs, as well as individuals who have both substance abuse and mental health issues. These groups are segregated by age.

Also provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) which is an evidence-based treatment method using FDA-approved medications alongside behavioral therapies for clients struggling with addiction.

Provides public transportation for individuals unable to use regular transit services. Buses are accessible for individuals using wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Individuals must have a DMT ID card that allows individuals to pay reduced fare for DMT services. 

Assists individuals in overcoming substance use problems, from unhealthy alcohol use to life-threatening addiction. Inpatient and outpatient programs available.
