Offers law enforcement services to the Winnebago County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.

Reimburses for funeral and burial expenses when a person's resources and all other sources of payment are less than the DHS standard payment rates. The maximum amount that DHS will pay is $1,370 for a funeral and $686 for a cremation/burial.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Perkins County.

State level services do not require wartime service. Assists in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; and waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Services to help survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and immigrant survivors of violence and trafficking:

- Orders of Protection for people experiencing domestic violence.

- Divorce, custody, or child support in cases involving domestic violence or child endangerment.

- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.

- Other court orders to stop abuse, harassment, or stalking.

- Immigration issues faced by survivors of domestic violence and trafficking.

- Guardianships of minors and adults to ensure safety and stability.

Provides court-ordered DUI evaluations and services.

Offers a food pantry.

Offers a retreat to caregivers of veterans and first responders. The retreat provides space to rejuvenate and connect with others going through similar situations. The program combines horses and human interactions designed to increase confidence and hope when it comes to caring for loved ones. Retreats are for adults only.

RSAC Prevention Educators are available to present professional trainings to organizations, companies, agencies, and schools. Educators have curriculum for many presentations but are open to new topics.

Professional trainings offered regularly include RSAC services and referral, how to respond to disclosure, childhood abuse, typical sexual development vs. red flag behavior, responding to sexual harassment, sexual assault and abuse, play therapy and sand tray therapy, and trauma and The Window of Tolerance.

Offers a food pantry that is available to area residents. Can access once per month. Perry County residents may also receive additional food from the monthly Mobile Market.

Assistive technology services provide alternatives to individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities, who find independence challenging at work, at home, or in the community. Provides evaluations and recommendations, assistance in obtaining funding for equipment, training for the individual and their primary caregiver(s), follow-up, and equipment maintenance. Staff will travel to home, facility, etc.

Home care services including nursing, rehabilitative therapies, psychiatric nursing services, home health aides, meal preparation, errands and grocery shopping, household assistance, and respite care.

Also offers home provider care services, including companionship, light housekeeping, and assistance with activities of daily living to help you safely stay independent at home.

Provides free and confidential pregnancy tests, limited ultrasound, free STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) testing, and information about sexually transmitted diseases.

Provides a food pantry and thrift store for those in need within Monroe county.

Assists eligible customers with such items as daycare cost, transportation and work supplies that enable them to obtain and maintain employment.

Senior centers provide a place for congregate meals, as well as social activities, games, educational programs, etc.

Addresses the nutritional, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of older adults. Socialization, meals, classes, and outings are a few of the services offered to seniors in our community.

Breakfast and lunch served Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
