The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) administers this program through a network of community-based partner agencies.
Preventing Abusive Relationships
Provides a program to help the perpetrators of violence learn non-violent skills. The program uses group dynamics to confront and challenge beliefs that accommodate violent patterns people choose. The group offers participants a sharing and interactive learning environment. The program consists of an assessment interview, min. of 26 weekly sessions, and a 30-minute exit interview. Community service can be accepted upon proof of need.

PROGRAM DETAILS: Provides parents with referrals to prenatal education, parenting education, support to remain in school, or anything in between. The program is a comprehensive, integrated system of early health, academic, and family services. Ensures that families of young children (birth to eight) receives support to promote healthy lifestyles and to increase educational attainment for parents and their children.
Regional Office of Education #17 (DeWitt, Livingston, Logan, McLean)
Offers to recruit, train, and place volunteer tutors to work with adults 17 years and older to learn English as a Second Language or to improve their reading and/or math skills up to the 9th grade level. Tutoring takes place in public locations within specific geographical areas, aligning with local school district resources and services. STAR staff provide testing, learning materials, and support to tutors and their learners.

Association for Individual Development - Aurora Behavioral Health Services
Offers a crisis and text line for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Trained Crisis Counselors work to de-escalate callers who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, anxiety, and/or depression. Counselors work with callers to identify options for resources and referrals that may benefit the caller and aid in relieving their crisis.

USDA Rural Development - Area 5
Offers Single Family Housing Programs. These programs provide home ownership opportunities to low- and moderate-income rural Americans through several loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs. Also makes funding available to individuals to finance vital improvements necessary to make their homes decent, safe, and sanitary.
Attorney General - State of Illinois - Springfield Main Office
Seeks to protect Illinois consumers and businesses victimized by fraud, deception, or unfair methods of competition. Within this division are the Franchise Bureau, Health Care Bureau, Charitable Trusts Bureau, Military and Veterans Rights Bureau, and Consumer Fraud Bureau.
The Consumer Fraud and Health Care Bureaus offer informal dispute resolution programs for consumers with complaints concerning their purchases and health care. Although the attorneys in the AG Office cannot represent any one individual in a lawsuit, a limited mediation program is offered to assist in resolving disputes or complaints filed by individual consumers.
McHenry Head Start
Administers Head Start, a comprehensive developmental preschool program for children. At the three center locations throughout McHenry County, open enrollment is available at any time and emphasis is on school readiness.
