Meals are contracted through mom's meals and are available to older adults ages 60 and older anywhere in Marion County, except inside the city limits of Knoxville. Mom's meals are delivered frozen to the client. Deliveries are scheduled every other week and contain 10 meals at a time, one meal per day Monday through Friday. 

CASA offers trained adult volunteers assisting children who are going through the court system due to child abuse or neglect.

CASA volunteers maintain contact with the children for the duration of time they are involved in the juvenile justice system.  Volunteers work with all case professionals involved in the children's case, including attorneys, therapists, foster parents, school officials, and biological parents.  CASA volunteers become deeply rooted into the child's life to better understand the wants and needs of the child and to establish and report the best recommendations to give to the court, so a more informed decision can be made.

Provides free tax credit clinics and prepares free federal and state income taxes for low to moderate income households.

When scheduling an appointment, choose a site location and date. All location will be face-to-face; virtual preparation is available in addition to facilitated self-assistance (schedule an appointment under the 'Need Assistance' tab).

If Lincoln Public School and/or UNL is closed due to bad weather, all VITA sites are closed.

The scope of work that can be done within the VITA site is defined by the IRS. If a return is considered "out of scope" for the site, VITA Volunteers will not be able to prepare the return.

Offers a day program where people battling different mental illnesses can socialize and gather in a safe environment.

Members make their own event and lunch calendars each month, cook lunches on a daily basis and help keep the clubhouse clean by signing up for tasks. There are weekly groups and daily activities, monthly out of town or in town outings that may include going out to eat, to a movie, seeing a sporting event or whatever else members decide to do that month.

The program provides access to two in-house support staff and a peer support specialist who offer assistance with finding housing, obtaining medical benefits, and connecting clients to additional services or resources. Support also includes help with obtaining, completing, and filing official forms, certificates, and documents required to apply for benefits or services, as well as guidance in acquiring copies of official documents or understanding legal documentation.

Provides park and recreational services to the residents of Ames. The Department manages 40 parks and offers almost 200 programs and activities throughout the year. Programs include swim lessons, fitness and wellness classes, youth and adult sports, and more. Enjoy activities at one of the facilities which include Homewood Golf Course, Ames/ISU Ice Arena, Furman Aquatic Center, Community Center, and Ames City Auditorium.

Provides inpatient and outpatient substance use disorder programs for adults.

Provides a food pantry to those in need. Must live within the Mediapolis School District to access the pantry.

Offers a variety of services for public health and safety purposes.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Offers to connect adult volunteers ages 55 and over with opportunities to engage in service to the community. Volunteers choose what fits their passions, interests, and schedules. The agency partners with the public, non-profit, and health care organizations to address needs in the areas of education, food security, independent living, financial security, disaster, and more.

Provides free, confidential community information, referrals and crisis line services to assist people in areas including support groups, community and cultural events, parenting concerns, adult and child abuse, relationship and family concerns, alcohol and drug abuse, housing, emergency shelter, suicidal thoughts and feelings, and food resources.

Provides Medication-Assisted Treatment who struggles with an Opioid Use Disorder. Other services include primary health care, group and individual counseling, recovery support coaching, and care management.

Provides a thrift store offering clothing, household goods, and furniture available at low cost to the community or vouchers if needed can be picked up at the Iowa Street location to be used here. Donations accepted at any time.

Program designed to help overcome the fear of falling, set goals, and promote exercise.

Offers assistance to individuals in crisis beyond their control such as car repairs for working persons and other emergency needs.

Provides the Unemployment Compensation Insurance programs and assists with questions regarding and applications for unemployment compensation, and provide resources for those seeking employment and retraining information.

Placement with a non-relative who has become licensed with the agency.

Foster families are asked to identify their preference in age, race, gender, and special needs of the children they will be providing a foster care placement. The Center tries to find the best possible match for any foster children needing a home.
