Provides support, empowerment, and recovery to survivors of sexual violence (and the people that love them). Counselors assist in the process of recognizing how sexual violence has impacted the survivor's feelings, relationships, self-esteem, and ability to function while working with them to find healing.

Survivors may choose to receive individual, family, couple, and/or group counseling. In addition, support groups are offered to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, teens, and parents.

Raises funds via workplace giving for member health charities.

Public education on behalf of member agencies.

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. The division is responsible for the maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

Accepts chemicals for household use only; no commercial or other non-household products. Everything must be in the original manufacturer container with the original label still readable and intact.

Does not accept medications of any kind, tires, large appliances, used antifreeze, business, industrial, agricultural, institutional, medical, or veterinary waste.

Brings community leaders and organizations together to identify and solve the communities' human service problems. Directs funds so that twenty programs and initiatives can provide a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health.

Provides law enforcement services which could include emergency response to the Louisa County area, including facilities for the detention of individuals charged with crimes and awaiting trial, as well as the confinement, treatment, employment, training, and discipline of individuals sentenced to imprisonment following conviction.

Offers an emergency homeless shelter that operates from Aug1- May 31 each year. The shelter provides meals, beds, showers, and laundry facilities. It is a structured program which includes rules, case management, classes, and require participation in an individual service plan. 

Parenting programs for parents of children 2-5 years old, 6-16 years old, ADD/ADH/ADHD children, and Spanish speaking parents - La Crianiza Practica Le Los Hijos, Ninos.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) provides supplemental help for the winter heating bills November 1-April 30. Those over 60 or disabled may apply for the season starting in October.

LIHEAP Crisis Assistance, when funding is available, may help with disconnect notices, furnace repair or furnace replacement for homeowners. Crisis assistance is dependent upon funding availability and may be available between April-October.

May have some crisis funding available outside the normal LIHEAP months with local funding, call local County Outreach Office for availability of funding.

Offers donated clothing, books/CDs/DVDs, household items, and furniture for sale to raise funds to support the humanitarian work of the Society conferences in the area.

Provides the following community-based therapeutic recreational services:

- Athletics and Special Olympics.

- Social outings.

- Arts and crafts.

- Music.

- Day Camp.

- Adult Day Programs.

Provides a food pantry, diapers and formula for parents or guardians with children. Diapers and formula are given to individuals twice a month during their pantry visit. Services also include a birthday blessings program where families with children receive a bag filled with cake mix, frosting, napkins, plates and a choice of a toy for children who do not have the resources to celebrate their birthday. 

Event connects homeless or near-homeless Veterans (this also includes non-military individuals that need assistance) to resources to help them transition to community living by providing access to human service agencies, including benefits counseling (Social Security and Veterans), employment and training assistance, eye exams, health care screenings, housing services, legal assistance, behavioral health treatment, substance abuse counseling, new and used clothing and school supplies if needed. In addition, haircuts will also be available to interested participants and meals will be provided. DATES: Friday, September 12, 2025, 5 pm-8 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2025, 8 am-8 pm and Sunday, September 14, 2025, 8 am-10 am. Provides literacy programs, tutoring, GED/diploma assistance, books and library services, summer school, and technology tablets for agricultural workers.

Prepares and carries out disaster response and recovery actions to prevent, minimize, repair, and alleviate injury and damage from natural, man-made, or nuclear disasters. Emergency preparedness and recovery resources are available for natural hazards such as droughts, earthquakes, floods, large-scale fires, tornadoes, and winter storms. As well as man-made hazards such as civil disorder incidents, hazardous material incidents, major transportation accidents, nuclear power plant accidents, pollution and sanitation problems and terrorism incidents.
