Provides standard and emergency assistance to Air Force and Space Force families when unexpected financial emergencies arise with no-interest loans and grants. The programs are intended to help meet immediate financial emergency needs and help make a positive step toward a lasting financial solution.  Assistance many be in the form of loans or grants.

Assistance programs may help with emergency assistance for rent or utilities, medical or dental care costs, funeral expenses, vehicle expenses (repair, payment, insurance, gas, etc.), pet medical care or transportation to/from an overseas assignment, food, personal hygiene items, child care expenses, and more.

Offers a variety of items available for check out, including books, DVDs, audio books, art prints, and a digital collection of databases, e-books, and e-audio, free public access computers, wireless Internet, readers advice and reference, and paid services such as printing, faxing, and copying. Proctoring services are available with notice.

Christmas In July offers families a fun, free event on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11 am-2 pm at the Evelyn Davis Park, 1400 Forest Avenue, Des Moines. Toys will be given away and activities for the family will be available. This event helps raise awareness for the Salvation Army's mortgage, rent, utilities, food assistance and Pathway of Hope programs. Funds raised from this event will help support these programs and help our neighbors in need in the Des Moines community.

Offers supportive housing facilities for those in need. Each of these facilities offers supportive services, such as counseling, educational programs, quality childcare, and job training.

Haven House: Provides a home environment for women with or without children. Haven Apartments: Permanent supportive housing that serves homeless women and their children who may be disabled. Hope Place: Provides a home environment for families with low-to-moderate incomes.

Offers a weight management program to veterans. Program provides weight-loss support groups to assist in weight loss, healthy eating tips and cooking classes, behavioral change strategies to assist in living a healthier lifestyle.

Provides primary medical care services to those that need minor medical services. Services include diagnosis and treatment of minor injuries, illnesses, physicals, pediatric care, occupational health services, and immunizations.

Activities for youth and adults in Geneva and surrounding communities, including athletics, CPR classes, swimming lessons, camps, investing, and welding.
