Head Start gives children, ages 3 and 4, the opportunity to grow and learn in a high quality early childhood setting. Head Start offers half-day, full-day, and homebased options.

Offers a 24-hour crisis hotline providing access to a therapist for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The therapist will talk with the person, evaluate the need for further and/or immediate services, and work to get services set up with the individual if needed.

- Connection to programs such as the Nebraska Specialized Telecommunications Equipment Program (NSTEP) and the Hearing Aid Bank (HAB).

Provides immediate, walk-in care for minor injuries and non-emergency illnesses that are not life-threatening but need early attention. Common conditions include sore throat, pink eye, flu, sprains, and strains.

Provides medical and cash assistance for customers who are 65 years of age or older, blind, or disabled. Also includes the QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) program which provides payment of Medicare premiums and some Medicare co-payments.

The online application is called "Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE)."  When applying, the state will determine the applicant's eligibility for this AABD, as well as SNAP and medical assistance (Medicaid).

Child and adult care food program.  Childcare providers are given nutritional consultation and menu reviews through meal cost reimbursement. CACFP staff performs in-service training, on-site visits, safety, sanitation inspections, and record-keeping reviews. Participation is open to registered home providers.

Provides comprehensive support services to immigrant or refugee farm workers who are legally authorized to work in the United States, migratory, and seasonal farmworkers, including educational assistance, short-term certification programs, job training, and career placements. The program aims to address chronic seasonal unemployment and underemployment experienced by agricultural workers by helping them cover costs related to career and training programs, such as tuition, books, tools, equipment, or stipends for class attendance.

Additionally, the program offers vocational assessment, job search assistance, and professional mentoring to prepare individuals for employment opportunities, including recognition of prior professional experience and obtaining initial work experience. Proteus administers the program as a recipient of the NFJP grant through the Employment and Training Administration, U.S. Department of Labor.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together.

Offers a transitional living center for homeless veterans who want a chance to rebuild their lives. Many veterans enroll after undergoing intensive substance abuse treatment. Clients must undergo a screening process and abide by all rules while a part of the center. Graduates are encouraged to enroll in TLS-Aftercare, a program that offers ongoing support and crisis intervention within the community.

Legal service program that helps:

- Individuals and families obtain and maintain Medicaid and Medicare and obtain coverage for services needed.

- With medical assistance denials, terminations, spend down issues (Medicaid, Medicare).

- Older adults and people with disabilities get the help needed to remain in their own home or secure coverage for long-term care.

- Older adults and people with disabilities establish powers of attorney.

- With nursing home discharges.

- Family members obtain guardianship or other legal authority to care for loved ones.

- People with HIV/AIDS obtain care and services.

Offers gently used clothing and household items. 

Administers probation supervision, pre-trial release, pre-sentence investigation, and parole services, including programs that oversee individuals under legal custody and facilitate movement between jurisdictions or facilities. 

Conducts bail hearings to determine release conditions, bail amounts, or detention status for individuals awaiting trial. Utilizes electronic monitoring technology, such as transmitters and location tracking equipment, to monitor offenders confined to their homes or awaiting judicial procedures. 

Offers low-risk probation for minimum supervision offenders with individualized court-ordered conditions to be completed within a designated timeframe.

Provides home-visitation services to new and expectant families to strengthen the parent child relationship, encouraged healthy child growth and development and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Offers a 24 hour Mobile Crisis Response Team. Anyone experiencing a mental health crisis can call to have the Mobile Crisis Unit dispatched.
