Public Library that provides a variety of service such as books, video, DVD, books on CD, and reference services. Also provides computers for public use and internet access. 

Provides daily living essentials to anyone in the service area. Individuals should limit their requests to one time per month. The program provides items not available through other sources. Free will donations are accepted. Examples of items provided include toilet paper, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.

Inpatient unit for those in acute psychiatric crisis, which may include an acute psychosis or to prevent harm to him/herself or others.

The goal is to stabilize and then help the patient transition to a lower level of care once their thoughts, mood, behaviors have stabilized via medication management or through individual and/or group therapies.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Also encourages households to make regular utility payments, to promote energy awareness and to encourage reduction of energy usage. All customers applying for this prgram will simultaneously be making an application for weatherization assistance as required by state law. Assistance is based on household income. size, type of fuel, and type of housing. Applications accepted October 1-April 30 for the elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30 for the rest of the households.

Offers hospice care services for individuals who are terminally ill and their families in their homes and facilities in which they live. Services include nursing services on an intermittent basis, physician services, drugs for pain relief and symptom management, medical supplies and equipment, short-term inpatient care including respite care, medical social services, bereavement services including support groups and counseling, spiritual and support and chaplain services. 

Provides a 7 acre public garden in the heart of downtown Des Moines. Offers opportunities for learning, socializing and respite for gardening enthusiasts and casual visitors.
