Links people to virtual support groups around the state. These groups meet via Zoom and are free to join. The Connections groups are for those living with a mental illness and the Family Support groups are for those supporting a loved one with mental illness. Individuals must sign up for access to the support groups.

Assists individuals in Illinois in becoming licensed foster parents. Also provides follow-up training for foster parents to help meet the various needs of their foster children.

Services provided:

-- LCFS team provides guidance and support through the foster care experience.

-- Health insurance for the children placed in a foster home.

-- Therapy, counseling, and academic counseling, and special education services when needed.

-- Training programs, support groups, and newsletters geared to foster families.

-- Monthly financial support for the foster child(ren's) basic needs, including food, clothing, and housing costs.

-- Funding for daycare, after-school care, and extracurricular activities including sports and art programs for eligible children in foster care.

Offers a general collection of books, magazines, and audio video materials. Also provides public computers for use by anyone.

Offers legal advocacy and education services for individuals involved in sexual abuse or domestic violence. Services include orders of protection and understanding court procedures, services are available in-person and online. Medical advocacy is available for participant emergencies or to address ongoing health concerns. Services are available on an individual basis as well as in group settings with other survivors.

Home delivered meals.

- For residents of Wymore, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Beatrice Senior Center, at (402) 223-3055 or the main office at (402) 223-1376.

- For residents of Palmyra, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Syracuse Senior Center, at (402) 269-2957.

- For residents of Nebraska City, home delivered meals must be arranged through the city's Meals on Wheels program.

Offers to assist a relative caregiver who wants to obtain guardianship through probate court of a relative's child living in the home of the caregiver. This includes

- Educating and helping the caregiver negotiate the probate court system.

• Assisting caregivers to obtain required documents.
• Arranging for legal counsel in counties where legal counsel is necessary.

  EFSP caseworkers meet with the relative caregiver monthly until guardianship has been obtained or until other services have been provided. These services can include crisis intervention, applying for benefits, working with local schools for the child's enrollment, and referral to a range of needed services that the caregiver may have to help meet the basic needs of the family.

Offers a comfortable and non-judgmental safe place where you can share your addiction or substance use story, ask questions, and receive support from others that have had similar experiences.

Offers a portable crib distribution program which provides a Cribette for qualifying primary caregivers who are unable to secure a safe crib, bassinet, or other portable play yard for their newborn. Approved applicants will be assigned to a Health Educator who will provide education and complete the necessary paperwork to ship the Cribette package to the applicant.

Cribette package includes, a Cribette, fitted sheet, a onesie t-shirt, and printed educational material.

Advises and aids veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits through compensation or pension claims. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together.

Thrift store open to the public. All revenue goes back into center operations.

Clothing at the thrift store is priced nominally. However, those in need are able to get clothing at no charge.

Provides and monitors medication to treat various mental health conditions. Medical staff consists of psychiatrists and advanced registered psychiatric nurse practitioners who are licensed to prescribe and monitor medications. This service is also provided via telehealth with providers who are outside of our community but who have an Iowa license to practice.

Provides library services which gives access to information. Items that may be borrowed from or used in the library include books, audio tapes, large print books and other materials.
