Provides comprehensive insurance counseling for Medicare or Medicaid eligible beneficiaries and their caregivers who may be new to or have questions about Medicare and Medicaid. Can also provide information and guidance to those who need assistance with claims and appeals, choosing appropriate health insurance coverage, subsidies or Medicaid to help afford Medicare premiums and copay costs.

Provides volunteer drivers in to Story County residents with transportation to and from medical appointments and other essential services. Although not exclusive, our priority is serving Story County’s older adult population.

Services to help survivors of domestic violence, older adults, people with disabilities, and immigrant survivors of violence and trafficking:

- Orders of Protection for people experiencing domestic violence.

- Divorce, custody, or child support in cases involving domestic violence or child endangerment.

- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.

- Other court orders to stop abuse, harassment, or stalking.

- Immigration issues faced by survivors of domestic violence and trafficking.

- Guardianships of minors and adults to ensure safety and stability.

Provides court-ordered DUI evaluations and services.

Provides a holistic approach to changing unhealthy lifestyles, addressing issues that have caused chronic homelessness and preventing relapse to offend. Program uses group, one-on-one, referral, and follow-up contact to address all barriers to healthy, independent living.

Provides outpatient alcohol and/or drug use disorder counseling for adults and adolescents.

Ostomy products for the uninsured and underinsured.

Provides health screenings including:

• Childhood lead poisoning
• Newborn screenings
• Tuberculosis (TB)
• Genetic screening (not testing)
• Pregnancy testing

Adult education classes, including High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) preparation, English as a Second Language (ESL), literacy tutoring, citizenship test preparation, and more.

Provides education and consumer assistance designed to facilitate enrollment of county residents in the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace through the In-Person Counseling Program.

Access to health insurance through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace is one of the many changes in the health care and health insurance fields made possible by the Affordable Care Act (ACA). People in need of assistance due to language barriers, technology disadvantages, or a lack of understanding of health insurance can arrange to meet an In-Person Counselor to assist them.

Client Choice food pantry. Pre-made boxes are available upon request. Bring container or bags to pack food into to take home.

Offers activities such as swimming, sports, crafts, games, nature activities, field trips and more. 

Helps youth develop and achieve career and education goals through tutoring, skills training, mentoring, work experience, and more.

Supportive home for those recovering from drug and alcohol addiction; residents must abide by the rules of the home, including never using drugs or alcohol while a resident. Homes may house men, women, women with children, or men with children.

Provides circuit court services to Vermilion County residents. The Circuit Clerk is part of the administrative arm of the judicial branch of government. Also collect fines and assessments ordered by the court, to be disbursed accordingly. 

Provides the following library services to the community:

- Books (including eBooks and large print), audiobooks, movies, music, and periodicals.

- Programs and activities for patrons of all ages.

- Computers with internet and word processing, fax machines and copiers.

- Interlibrary loan.

- Notary Public service.

Provides home delivered meals to seniors, 60 and older, who cannot leave the house. Contact the office to fill out an intake and a meal risk-screening form. Once application is received, client will be contacted to start receiving the meals at home.
