Offers help to first and second-time parents managing the demands of caring for a child during the first three years of life. Family-support workers visit the home to encourage new parents by building on their strengths, emphasizing the joys of parenting and easing concerns with education and hands-on assistance. Services can start before the baby is born with prenatal home visits by a doula.

Provides out of school programming for youth ages 5-11 at two locations: Jane Boyd Community House and Johnson Steam Academy Magnet School. Offers help with homework, tutoring, recreational activities, and positive social interactions. Achievement Academy programs are licensed childcare centers and enrollment includes a sliding scale fee based on family income. Block grant is also accepted.

Provides assistance to adults with serious mental health conditions who are Medicaid beneficiaries in coordinating and managing their health and mental health care services. The program provides support and assistance for clients in identifying goals and working with the healthcare team to ensure that the needs of the client are met. Services include coordinating the client's primary and specialty care providers, coordinating the care provided in the hospital, clinic, and the community, and access to a Peer Support Specialist who have experienced living with mental illness.

Homeless prevention, rental counseling, housing assistance and advocacy to assist persons to avoid homelessness and locate permanent housing.

Due to funding limitations, each inquiry or application will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine eligibility and available support.

WIC helps meet the nutritional needs through health and nutrition assessments and education, food vouchers to participating stores, and breastfeeding support. Many working families as well as those who receive SNAP benefits also qualify for WIC services.

Also provides Nurse Case Managers that help income eligible women and their children to obtain healthcare services. Also provides other assistance they may need to have a healthy pregnancy, and promote the child’s healthy development.

Provides food and personal hygiene grooming products, including diapers, to families in need. Food vouchers to local grocery stores for fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk, bread, potatoes, cheese, laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper may also be available.

Taxpayer services include: Accepting Cash payments, Account Inquiries (help with letters, notices and levies on your wages or bank account), Adjustments (changes to tax account information or payments) , Alien Clearances (Sailing Permits), Application for Taxpayer Assistance Order (ATAO), Copies of Tax Returns & Transcripts (Usually available for current year and three prior years) , Help with preparing Form 2290 (Heavy Vehicle Use Tax), Multilingual Assistance (over 150 languages translated), Federal Tax Return Preparation, Payments/Payment Arrangements, Procedural Inquiries, Solutions to Tax Issues, Tax Forms (based on availability), Tax Law Assistance (answers related to your individual Federal Tax Return), Taxpayer Identification Numbers. TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM offers assistance with tax questions, forms, etc. Mon-Fri 8 am-4:30 pm at local office, call to make an appointment. FREE FILE online available through the IRS - must make $84,000 or less to qualify for free filing online. VITA and TCE: is a program to assist low income, elders, and persons with disabilities with tax information and form preparation. Provides sexual assault prevention programs for school settings for youth and general community education for both youth and adults.

Families with children 3 and under can receive a full box of diapers/pull-ups every 30-days. Individuals that may need adult diapers may qualify as well.

Weekly group meetings are held for young adults pregnant or parenting a childbirth until entry into kindergarten. Each meeting provides a meal, parent/child activities, childcare and parenting discussion groups. Groups are provided for expecting parents, childbirth, newborn, infant moms, toddler moms, preschool moms, dads, Hispanic Moms and Hispanic Dads, African French/Swahili families.

Provides emergency assistance for rent payment, utility or fuel bills once per year.

Provides a support group for individuals recovering from addictions. 

Provides peer recovery and support services for those going through or dealing with a mental health issue. Support is also offered to family members.

Provides oversight and maintenance for the parks, trail systems and recreational courts.

Provides a variety of vaccines that are currently available for children through the age of 18.
