Addresses needs related to protection of air, soil and water quality. Participates in blood lead environmental surveys, treatment and follow-up, water testing, well closure and septic system consultation, disposal of old medicines, business waste.

Provides programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for everyone. Offered in three broad areas, aquatics - full swim program, health enhancement - personal training, weight management, exercise equipment and youth and family life enrichment - offering youth sports, day camp, and family programs, all of which stress character development such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Provides free health insurance counseling services. Educating people with Medicare and their caregivers about available insurance options. Also assists seniors with completing forms and applying for benefits such as reduced license plate program.

Funding provides financial assistance with tuition, books and supplies for participants who meet eligibility requirements. Many programs at Kish qualify for WIOA assistance.

Provided for defendants who reside in Linn County. This program was established as a collaborative effort with Linn County Mental Health and Disability Services to provide jail diversion and reentry services for people who have been diagnosed or thought to have a mental illness.

WIC helps meet the nutritional needs through health and nutrition assessments and education, food vouchers to participating stores, and breastfeeding support. Many working families as well as those who receive SNAP benefits also qualify for WIC services.

Also provides Nurse Case Managers that help income eligible women and their children to obtain healthcare services. Also provides other assistance they may need to have a healthy pregnancy, and promote the child’s healthy development.

The Short Years Diaper Bank is available to any Madison, Warren, or Marion County family whose income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level,. Proof of residency is required. Diaper pick up is once a month. Registration is required each month. 50 diapers per child will be given. Only the parent or legal guardian may request diapers. We cannot accommodate requests for specific brands of diapers. Diapers are available for children ages birth through three. Children age four and older are generally not eligible.
