Thanksgiving assistance - Offering a turkey giveaway on November 22nd, 2025, at 11 am-1 pm. Open to Dubuque County residents only. Individuals can register on-site the day of the giveaway to receive one free turkey per household.

Christmas assistance - To register for the Toys for Tots 2025 program visit website or in person to register. Open to children ages 14 and under. Registration will remain open until all time slots are full.

Offers chore services for the general public. Services include spring and fall cleaning, washing walls and baseboards, organizing closets, cleaning the windows, knocking down cobwebs, washing curtains, organizing the garage or basement, moving the furniture to clean under it, and any other deep cleaning that may be needed.

Provides a women's transitional living program with rehabilitation services, designed to support adult females in achieving personal goals and overall well-being. The program requires a minimum stay of 4 months and allows a maximum stay of two years. 

Upon arrival, each participant collaborates with a case manager to develop a personalized strategy addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, and social needs. Services include group mental counseling, weekly social activities, and peer-to-peer mentoring. 

Additionally, the program offers mutual support groups for individuals recovering from or at risk of alcohol use disorders and drug use disorders, providing emotional support, information, and resources to aid in recovery. These groups may include faith-based and secular 12-step programs, non-12-step programs, and specialized groups for healthcare professionals.

City government offices.

Offers a clothing closet for men needing professional attire for job interviews, position change for current employment, or events and activities. Clients will receive a designated number of items depending on size availability. Individuals may receive clothing twice a year (1 from Jan-June and 1 from July-Dec). Max items up to 3 suits/jackets, 5 shirts, 3 slacks, 5 ties, 1 belt, and 1 pair of shoes. 

Programs are developed in communities that have identified insufficient down payments as a barrier to home ownership for low and moderate-income families. Assistance is provided as a loan/forgivable loan to potential homeowner as gap financing between loan amount and the cost of the home.

Provides help for students and parents to obtain the financial resources needed to fund post-secondary education. Iowa students can take advantage of Iowa Student Loan’s interest rate and fee reductions on Federal Stafford Loans, Federal Plus Loans, Federal Grad Plus Loans as well as private loans including the Partnership Loan.

Disaster services in the case of a house fire. Must have a referral from the Red Cross.

Provides budget and debt counseling and education. Also offers HUD-approved Housing Counseling and education including: pre-purchase, mortgage default and foreclosure prevention, bankruptcy counseling and education and credit report review.

Debt Management Program (DMP) also available for clients to pay unsecured debt (credit cards and loans) at reduced interest and fees.

Provides help with rent and rent deposit assistance. Can also help with financial counseling. 

Offers international programs of physical fitness, sports training, and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Services include sports basketball, bowling, power lifting, soccer, softball, volleyball, aquatics, motor activities, golf, and flag football. Athletes develop better coordination, get needed exercise, improve concentration and discipline, meet other athletes, and gain a feeling of satisfaction and success. 

Provides information and services related to health and wellness topics, including heart health, cholesterol, blood pressure screening, smoking cessation, diabetes, obesity, and physical activity. Offers blood pressure screenings to identify individuals at risk for hypertension-related conditions, cholesterol and triglycerides tests to assess cardiovascular health, and hypoglycemia screenings to detect blood sugar deficiencies. Additionally, provides diabetes management support, including education on self-management skills, dietary planning, exercise, and prevention of complications. Health education presentations are also available for local schools.

Offers assistance with budgeting and financial management for Story County residents who are required by the Social Security Administration to have a representative payee. The purpose of the program is to assist with income management to ensure housing, food, medical and material needs are met.

Offers school-home communication. Offering parent/family resources, support programs for students and families, and community network connections. Also free school supplies may be available.
