Head Start has preschool options for 3 and 4 year old children. Many locations partner with local schools to provide full day service, transportation, and easier transitions to Kindergarten.
Early Head Start, birth to 3 years old, have similar comprehensive services as Head Start.

SAL Child Care Resource and Referral of Midwestern Illinois
Trains home child care providers to help ensure the highest quality of care is provided by offering free training and courtesy home visits with activities and crafts for the children, CPR/First Aid certification, and professional development opportunities.
Training for child care providers is offered both through SAL Child Care Resource and Referral programs for all licensed and license-exempt centers and homes in the 16-county IL area from the Quad Cities to central Illinois, and through SAL Home Child Care Network Moline, Galesburg, and Peoria offices for licensed home providers who are part of the Network.

Counseling focuses on a wide variety of issues including parenting, family conflict, relationships, depression and anxiety, issues of adult children of alcoholics, survivors of sexual abuse, and conflict resolution.

Works with families to get them enrolled in the 1st Five Healthy Mental Development Initiative. 1st Five program builds partnerships between physician practices and public service providers to enhance high-quality well-child care. 1st Five promotes the use of developmental tools that support healthy mental development for young children during the first five years. By using a tool for all children that includes social-emotional development and family risk factors, providers are able to identify children at risk for developmental concerns that, if left untreated, would play out later in life.

Provides transportation services to multiple counties.
Riders are encouraged to schedule trips at least one working day in advance (same-day service is available if space permits), and riders must be ready for pick-up 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. Cancellations must be made at least two hours prior to pick-up time.
All vehicles are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.

Mid Illinois Senior Services and Community Center
Provides consulting, education and training, and support services for those non-paid caregivers caring for someone who is age 60 or over and for grandparents raising grandchildren.
Iowa Association for the Education of Young Children
Mission is to promote high quality early learning for all children birth through age eight by connecting practice, policy and research and advance a diverse dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate and work on behalf of children. Offers a statewide website, advocacy and public awareness, Week of the Young Child activities, annual training institutes, program/staff support, chapter development support and a connection to the National Association for the Education of Young Children. T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood IOWA is a scholarship program designed to provide educational scholarships for those working with young children. This program provides a variety of financial support as well as one-on-one guidance and support through the process. CHILD CARE WAGE$ IOWA (WAGE$) is a salary supplement program that awards financial stipends to those working in the early care and education field who have already obtained some level of formal education and have worked in their child care program for at least 6 months.

Provides rental/mortgage assistance, security deposit assistance, approved case management, and approved supportive services to individuals and families who are in imminent danger of eviction, foreclosure or are currently homeless. Supportive services must directly relate to the prevention of homelessness.
Warming Shelter - Overnight Shelter
Emergency 24 hour temporary shelter, operating during winter months (November 1st through April 30th) annually. Food is provided.
Offers a temporary emergency shelter for people who do not have a warm place to stay out of the cold and winter weather.
Ken-Rock Community Center
Provides children with a safe environment full of activities while building confidence, self-esteem and character. Kids can participate in indoor and outdoor games and activities such as weekly swimming at Alpine Park Pool, field trips, reading, arts and crafts, and more.

Helps homeowners and tenants save their homes through available legal strategies, including foreclosure defenses in court, bankruptcy, income generation, loan modification, and various alternatives to foreclosure.

- Subsidized housing (public housing, Section 8 and other rental assistance) evictions, termination of assistance, rent calculations, and admissions issues.
- Evictions from mobile home parks.
- Evictions by private landlords.
- Discrimination and disability accommodation (see Fair Housing Project).
- Foreclosure, property tax, and other homeownership issues.
- Housing protection for seniors, veterans, and people living with HIV/AIDS.
Good Neighbor Community Health Center - Columbus
Offers behavioral health services, including psychiatry and therapy services. Provides drug and alcohol evaluations and counseling.
