New Opportunities - Sac County
Head Start and Early Head Start are comprehensive child development programs that serve children from birth to age five, pregnant women and their families. The programs are child-focused and have the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.
Both programs provide a range of individualized services in the areas of education, medical, dental and mental health, nutrition and social service to children and their families. Parent involvement is encouraged and support is offered for children with disabilities.

South Central Nebraska Area Agency on Aging
Caregiver training and education, information on available services, caregiver support, and funding for emergency response systems.
Respite care grants available to provide temporary relief for the permanent caregiver. Grant amounts vary and are provided through the Family Caregiver Program.

Body-centered therapeutic approach that helps individuals recover from trauma and stress by focusing on the body's natural ability to self-regulate.
Guides individuals to become aware of and gently process physical sensations associated with traumatic experiences, rather than solely focusing on the cognitive or emotional aspects. This process helps release trapped survival energy, restore nervous system balance, and alleviate symptoms such as anxiety, hypervigilance, chronic pain, and emotional dysregulation, ultimately promoting healing and resilience.

Provides a one-time payment option to assist with water and wastewater bills.
Public Health Solutions - Main Office
Health Education programs to encourage proper nutrition and exercise. Health literacy projects to reduce obesity in children and families. Tobacco and smoking cessation. Traffic safety and education. Air Quality. Community health and wellness services in addition to WRAP program (Wellness Recovery Action Plan).
EveryStep Care and Support Services
Offers an educational incentive program. Participants earn points for healthy behaviors such as keeping medical appointments, WIC participation, breastfeeding and school attendance. These points are redeemed for needed baby items such as diapers, clothing, strollers, cribs and car seats.

Goodwill of Central Illinois
Provides permanent supportive housing to male veterans. Provides and coordinates all services including treatment for post-traumatic stress syndrome, substance abuse, stress, anxiety and psychological counseling. Can also help with budgeting, clothing, legal assistance, food, transportation, entitlement benefits, medical care, job training, education, and job placement services.
Sexual Health Clinic at McKinley Foundation
Offers diagnostic services and treatment for STDs/STIs. Also offers testing for HIV and Hepatitis C, as well as the Gardasil vaccine. Hepatitis A and B immunizations are provided to all STD/STI clinic clients.

In-home residential services designed to develop and maintain skills ranging from personal care to protective oversight. Residential habilitation is an around-the-clock service in a group home setting or Extended Family Home/Shared Living. Risk services provides extra training and clinical staff involvement.
IMPACT Community Action Partnership – Polk Co. (Drake Neighborhood)
Provides financial assistance (up to $125) to households with a termination notice on their water utilities. The assistance can be provided once per calendar year for eligible households. Households will still be responsible for a portion of the payment to Water Works. If you are not a Des Moines Water Works customer and have a termination notice. Call to see if any other assistance is available.
