Offers referrals when unable to assist with a case.

Veterans Assistance Commission - McHenry County
Offers emergency financial assistance available to eligible veterans or surviving spouse of a veteran. Assistance may include:
- Shelter: Rental or mortgage assistance paid directly to landlord or mortgage company. Homeless veterans may receive placement into motels, hotels, or appropriate shelters.
- Utilities: Payments for electric, heat, water and sewage, trash removal, or medically required telephone service.
- Food & household items: Food vouchers for groceries, hygiene products, and household cleaning supplies.
- Transportation: Fuel vouchers (must have proof of insurance). - Independent Living: Payments to Independent Living Services.
Kankakee Township
Provides an assistance program for Kankakee Township residents administered and funded entirely by Kankakee Township that provides financial assistance for rent and/or utilities. This program is an income based program primarily for adults who have no minor children in the home and are ineligible for any of the federally-funded cash grant programs.
Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska - Lincoln

Offers education, support, and advocacy organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals impacted by mental health. Information on Mindspring's upcoming webinars can be found on the Mindspring website. These events are absolutely free and everyone is welcome.

Responsible for accepting and submitting claims of discrimination for Cedar Falls residents, visitors, and employees of businesses within the city as defined by Iowa Law.
American Job Center - Grand Island
Unemployment Insurance benefits assist individuals who are unemployed through no fault of their own. Benefits are paid from the Nebraska State Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund. The fund is supported solely by a special tax on employers. Unemployment claims are filed online at NEworks.nebraska.gov.

Offers financial management course developed for families in low-income situations. Clients receive support with basic, technical financial management skills, financial practices and systems.
Embarras River Basin Agency (ERBA) - Clark County
Provides up to $150 to families for utilities, diapers, groceries, gas for vehicles, and other needs.
Bremer County Sheriff
Offers law enforcement services to the Bremer County area, including responding to emergency calls through a 911 telephone response service that assesses and dispatches appropriate emergency assistance. Additionally, the agency issues gun/firearm permits, conducts requested background checks, and manages the county jail.

Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley
- Assists individuals, businesses, and other non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowment and temporary funds, through gifts and bequests, within the confines of one large foundation.
- Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to students within the Fox River Valley, including the Greater Aurora Area and the Tri-Cities.
Lazarus House
Emergency housing offers a safe haven for persons in need. The shelter provides a warm bed, three meals per day, shower and laundry facilities, personal hygiene items, clothing, and supportive services to link homeless individuals with case management. Guests may also ask for help with GED tutoring and employment services.
Sigourney Senior Citizen Center
Association for Individual Development - DeKalb
Provides outpatient behavioral health services to those in need. Services include counseling (both individual and group), therapy, supported employment for individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges, and psychosocial rehabilitation (groups to help people with daily living skills and mental illness recovery).
Women's Choice Center
Offers medical grade pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasound, limited sexually transmitted infection testing for females, Forever Loved program -perinatal hospice and miscarriage care.
Other medical services include pregnancy option counseling, adoption referrals, and community resource referrals.
Provides resources to families including a children's clothing boutique, diapers, wipes, and other baby items. All items are donated.
Offers REAL Choices student and adult education programs.

Offers activities including game days (cards, bingo, Nintendo Wii games, life-size Jenga); craft activities (painting, crocheting and adult coloring); jam sessions for those who play an instrument or enjoy singing a tune; and Wandering Wednesdays bus trips to explore the destinations around the city and region.
Fitness classes including Silver Sneakers, line dancing, Tai Chi and self-defense classes.

Kaleidoscope Cafe Meals are served at 11:30 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, catered by Hy-Vee - Papillion Shadow Lake. Registration is required by 11 am the day before, and the center can accommodate a maximum of 50 guests during each lunch. Lunches cost $5 per person. Members are also allowed to register a guest of any age to accompany them for the same price.
