Counsels and advises the Mayor of concerns of citizens with disabilities and recommends to the Mayor policies to be implemented through municipal government that: affect the status of citizens with disabilities; affect employment in municipal government of citizens with disabilities; and affect accessibility to and from public buildings and infrastructures governed by municipal codes and ordinances.

CPR classes.

Support groups related to Alzheimer's caregivers and Parkinson's Disease.

Provides education to those who have been diagnosed with diabetes.

Pediatric therapy.

Diabetes education.

Provides housing counseling on the topics of pre-purchase home buyer education, budget and credit workshops and counseling, post-purchase counseling, repairs for homes, delinquency and foreclosure prevention counseling.

Provides Behavioral Health and Treatment Services including evaluation and treatment assessment, outpatient counseling, and group therapy. Also provides Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Home health care nursing, aides, and therapy.

Children's immunization clinics.

Provides property assessment, property value information, Homestead, Veteran and Family Farm Credit sign up.

County government services.

General emergency assistance and case management program for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Offers a 24-hour crisis hotline providing access to a therapist for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The therapist will talk with the person, evaluate the need for further and/or immediate services, and work to get services set up with the individual if needed.

Provides assistance with rent, mortgage, and utility payments when funds are available.

Works in the courts, in the Iowa legislature, and through public education and advocacy to assure the rights of everyone in Iowa are preserved. Offers Conservator, Guardian and Executor of Estate Services.

Supported community living for people with disabilities. Children and adults learn things like how to balance a checkbook, brush their teeth or set a shower schedule, make new friends, be safe in their community, communicate with others, etc. The goal is for people to achieve their own goals of independence. Services are available daily or hourly with Medicaid waiver.

Immediate care provides treatment for injuries and ailments such as:

- Cold, sore throat, and flu.

- Cuts needing stitches.

- Dehydration.

- Earaches.

- Fever over 100.4 F.

- Food poisoning.

- Fractures and minor burns.

- Laboratory and imaging.

- Nausea and vomiting.

- Nosebleeds.

- Rashes.

- Respiratory and sinus infections.

- Sprains and strains.

- Urinary tract infections.

Offers Partner Abuse Intervention Program, (P.A.I.P.) is most often completed by individuals who have been accused of, or have engaged in, abusive behaviors with a significant other. This program focuses on resolving the root of the problem to help with long term change. Program is designed to help clients unlearn problematic behaviors, and understand why they are problematic, so you can have healthy relationships in the future. Healthy communication, respect, and conflict resolution are focused upon during the program.
