Offers amplified phones for those who have an amplified phone voucher.  Once a person has their voucher, they can come to the center and try out each of the phones and select their preference.

Advises and aids veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits and burial benefits through compensation or pension claims. Emergency financial assistance for basic necessities such as rent or mortgage payments, utilities and food may be available. Can also assists with applications for benefits made available by federal, state or local laws, including burial benefits.

Issues Vital Records (birth, death, marriage, civil union, etc.), maintains property tax information, acts as election authority, etc.

Offers a skilled nursing care and home health care service. Services include: personal care; essential shopping; housekeeping; meal preparation; respite care; companionship and emotional support; personal care; transportation; medication administration and teaching; Intravenous and TPN therapy; wound care; enteral feeding; prenatal and postpartum care; phototherapy; and Telemonitoring of vital signs, weight and blood sugar readings; physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapies; lab testing; registered dietitian; and pharmacy consultations. Social workers available to provide assistance in identifying community resources and case management.

Provides general health care needs, including preventive care as well as urgent problems of adult and pediatric patients.

Maintains county parks and recreation areas and provides hunter safety classes, camping, fishing and boating information. Outdoor recreational opportunities are available through county parks and outdoor wildlife areas.

Provides enhanced services to pregnant and post-partum women, health education services such as the importance of continued prenatal care, prenatal and postpartum nutrition education services, normal changes during pregnancy, self-care during pregnancy, and warning signs to report to a doctor. Can also provide information on labor and delivery, the normal process of labor, signs of labor, coping skills, danger signs, referrals to child birth classes, and breastfeeding information and support!

Presumptive eligibility for Medicaid can be processed by staff at New Opportunities, Inc. Presumptive eligibility is temporary Title 19 insurance for pregnant women while it is being determined if eligible for Medicaid services.

Provides transportation services for older adults ages 60 and older. Priority is given to medical appointments. Transportation for other necessary errands provided when volunteer availability allows. Will transport to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. Advance notice is required for all rides. 

Activities center for those 55 and older.

Fellowship, exercise, games, crafts, ping pong, social events, foot clinic, etc.

Provides healthcare services to those in need. Services include primary care, chronic disease treatment, pediatrics, reproductive health, prenatal care, lab services, school and sports physicals.
