Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

Provides inpatient and outpatient mental health services. Services include treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, self-harm and suicidality, family/relationship problems, OCD, and confusion/memory loss.

Holiday baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas For eligible families, a holiday food basket will be prepared upon request. Visit in person to register for a food basket. Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets (Signup Dates are November 1st through November 27th, 2025)

Provides behavioral health services for adults, children, couples, and families struggling with their mental health. Services include therapy, psychiatry, psychological testing, school-based therapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Give-away voucher program. Vouchers distributed at the Friends in Need Service monthly.

Provides congregate and delivered meals.

Provides routine immunization to uninsured adults. Routine immunizations are also provided to any child who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of an inability to pay.

Immunization offered include:

-- Hepatitis B

-- Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib)

-- Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR)

-- Meningococcal conjugate vaccine (type of vaccine used to protect adolescents from certain types of meningitis)

-- Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (type of vaccine used to protect infants and toddlers from life-threatening meningitis and blood infections from certain bacteria)

-- Polio

-- Tetanus/Diphtheria (Td)

-- Varicella (chickenpox)

-- Flue vaccine (offered seasonally)

Preservative-free vaccine available by request for eligible children 6-35 months of age.

Public library services. 

Works to support people affected by mental illness, educate with facts about mental health topics, and advocate for mental health concerns. Every NAMI signature program is free to those we serve.

NAMI Support Groups: Meet weekly providing support for adults living with mental illness and also for the family members caring for their loved one.

NAMI Educational Courses: Offered 3 to 4 times per year for the adult living with mental illness and for the family member or friend who wants to learn how to support their loved one.

NAMI public presentations: courageous adults living in recovery share their mental illness journey with the public.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year.

State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition.

Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Offers fans to anyone in need. Limit of one per household.

Provides a food pantry for individuals within the Astoria School District boundaries. 

Provides food and personal hygiene grooming products, including diapers, to families in need. Food vouchers to local grocery stores for fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk, bread, potatoes, cheese, laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper may also be available.

Provides weatherization services to low income households. Helps conserve fuel and reduce energy costs by making homes and apartments more energy efficient. Also provides many health and safety upgrades.

Meals Plus for Seniors provides hot meals are provided where individuals can socialize with others and enjoy recreational, educational and social activities.
