A medium security women's facility emphasizing academic and vocational education, prison industries, psychological counseling, cognitive skill training, substance abuse programs, violence prevention, pre-release program, reentry programs, anger management and parenting programs IOWA MEDICAL & CLASSIFICATION CENTER, CORALVILLE (319-626-2391): IMCC serves as the reception and classification center for all males 18 years of age and older entering the adult institutional corrections system. After extensive testing and assessment of risk, health and cognitive skills, they are then processed on to other facilities. A medium security general population unit is in operation at IMCC, as well as, a special needs unit with both medical and mental health beds. IMCC also runs the only licensed forensic psychiatric hospital in the state, providing inpatient psychiatric and evaluation service to non-adjudicated patients IOWA STATE PENITENTIARY, FT. Pleasant (319-385-9511): A medium/minimum security institution for women emphasizing cognitive based programming including substance abuse, sex offender programming, thinking for a change, and academic programming. Includes: violence prevention, anger management, parenting programs, psychological counseling, cognitive skills training, licensed substance abuse program, pre-release programs, off grounds work programs, Storybook, GED and literacy, CALM, Thinking for Success, criminality, Braille, Key-life skills, Blackhawk County Re-entry, prison industries, etc. NORTH CENTRAL CORRECTIONAL FACILITY, Rockwell City (712-297-7521): A minimum security facility for men emphasizing academic and vocational education, psychological counseling, cognitive skills training, licensed substance abuse program, parenting programs, leader dog training, family violence prevention, pre-release program, anger management, off grounds work, prison industries, and many other programs. Emergency operations center for the County, which handles emergency response incidents, including accidents, fires, floods, storms and other disasters. Also responsible for requesting federal assistance after a disaster.

Locates and pays for medical services to children with major medical problems. Child must be medically and financially eligible. Diagnostic services can be considered.

Services includes payment for medical care, hospitalization, specific equipment, and other services. Potential Disabled Children's Program services include transportation, lodging, and respite care.

\Maintains official real estate documents, contracts, articles of incorporation, partnerships, state tax liens, military records, birth, marriage, divorce, and death records. Issues and maintains marriage licenses and marriage certificates. Offers ATV, Boat, and Snowmobile licenses/renewals and a Passport acceptance facility and photo service. Provides Military Records for tax exemptions and benefits. Issues public health permits to certify compliance with public health laws and ordinances. Official documents include mortgages, deeds and contracts, assignments, releases, plats and surveys, easements, and State and Federal tax liens.

Counseling services provide specialized counseling and case management to those needing to address mental health issues. Counseling services can be provided in the home, school or in an office setting. Specialized counseling includes but is not limited to:

-- Marriage and family problems.

-- Self-Esteem issues.

-- Crisis/Suicide.

Provides skills training programs (LEEP/Link Employment Exploration Program) and Supported Employment programs (job development and job coaching) to individuals with an intellectual or developmental disability.

Offers law enforcement services to the Butler County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.

Food pantry. 

Provides a food basket to those in need. Can be accessed every 30 days as needed.

Provides assistance to individuals and families in Clay County who need help with rent, utility bills, and burial services.

The program is designed to provide short-term emergency assistance to persons who are experiencing a financial crisis and are unable to be supported by their own means, relatives, or other public and private sources and cannot obtain assistance from any other source. Not intended to provide on-going, long term aid to any individual or family. Must meet current income and resource guidelines to be eligible for assistance.

Provides Emergency Housing, Rapid Rehousing, and Homeless Prevention services to eligible veterans and their families. Temporary financial assistance, navigation, case management, and connection to other appropriate services and programs will be provided by a supportive team.

Offers a variety of services for men, women, and children experiencing homelessness, gives guests a safe place to be during the day with heating and cooling. Services include: Computer Learning Center, Referrals to community resources, job search assistance, life skills training, assistance with rental applications, and emergency clothing vouchers.

Offers assistance with job search and job readiness, including access to job postings, work-based learning opportunities, and internship placements. Maintains and provides lists of organizations that offer job training resources upon request.
