Recruits, screens, trains, and supports volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) who are appointed by a juvenile court judge to advocate for a child, who is under the jurisdiction of the court due to abuse or neglect.

CASAs maintain contact with the children during the entire court jurisdiction period. Work with attorneys, therapists, parents, foster parents, and all adults involved with the child; and get to know the child's needs and makes reports to the court, so a more informed decision can be made.

Provides financial literacy workshops to help families and individuals achieve stability and secure homeownership. Can also help, when funding is available, with back rent and overdue mortgage payments. Services include credit building, debt reduction coaching, homeownership/homebuyer education, access to income support services (emergency rent and mortgage help when funding available), employment coaching/career services, and financial education and coaching.

Offers a home hospice program for patients and families throughout central Illinois. A coordinated care team visits individuals and their families in their own home. "Home" can be anywhere an individual calls home - house, apartment, nursing or retirement facility. The goal is to keep patients in familiar surroundings and close to loved ones for as long as possible.

Outpatient and intensive outpatient substance abuse treatment program offering a continuum of care from evaluation to education/intervention to treatment and aftercare for adolescents and adults experiencing life area problems due to misuse, abuse, or dependence on alcohol/drugs. Individualized treatment services provided in individual, family, and group counseling sessions.

Inpatient treatment for adults available in Elgin.

Not an emergency shelter.

Offers safe housing opportunities for women in domestic violence, human trafficking, addiction situations, codependency healing, and addiction rehab. Open ended shelter program for women in crisis. Offers classes, bible studies, job search assistance, and help in locating an apartment and furnishing it. Also provides Christ-centered individual counseling (online and in person), and a faith-based addiction class.

Provides a place where community members can receive free items. All items come from donations.

Items may include personal care products, toiletries, infant formula, diapers, pet food, and pet treats when available.

Items usually available, but may change, include clothing, toys, shoes, and household goods.

Based on donated supplies, seasonal items may also be offered. Seasonal items may include holiday items, winter clothing, school supplies, blessing bags, and food.

Offers a range of services for older adults. Care services may also be provided in many settings, within the patient's home, nursing home, assisted living facilities, or hospitals.

Provides emergency rent and utility assistance, burial expense, transportation for transient individuals, and other basic needs case by case for low-income individuals and families in Story County.

Provides help with budgeting money and bill-paying. 

Offers a food pantry through the Food Bank for the Heartland. Updated schedule posted monthly on the Food Bank for the Heartland website.

Lends wheelchairs, walkers, knee-scooters, back benches, canes, and commodes. Also gives out personal supplies, such as diapers, pull-ups, pads, rubber gloves, bed pads, and wipes.

Offers Equine Assisted Services to adults and children of all ability levels, including:

- Adaptive Riding;

- Therapy Services through Occupational, Physical, Speech, and Mental Health Therapy;

- Equine Therapy for Veterans and First Responders;

- Adaptive Carriage Driving;

- Life Skills, and more.

Students who participate in free monthly lunch-provided workshops and other activities may be eligible for limited financial assistance. Students must be currently enrolled at WNCC and apply for the program. The program is co-located with the TRIO Student Support Services program.

Counselors are present in all OPS middle and high schools.

Crisis intervention for individuals who experience a personal or family crisis.

Consultation for school faculty, parents, or other family caretakers seeking solutions for those in need by licensed mental health providers including:

Assessment, individual and family Therapy counseling to address social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health issues.

Substance use screenings provide parents and staff with clinical opinion and direction regarding a student's substance use.

Educational programs enhance awareness of mental health issues, increase informed choices and actions, prevent problems, increase community support, and initiate positive change.

Provides services coordination/case management to those disabled and/or older adults who meet nursing facility level of care for the Medicaid Waiver Program. This program is based upon the belief that people with care needs should have options for receiving services. Potential participants will meet with a staff person to determine needs and develop a care plan. Eligible persons are offered the choice of receiving home and community-based services or nursing facility care.

The Waiver allows Medicaid money to be used to purchase the following services that are not usually considered 'medical': Personal Care, Companion Care, Chore Services, Adult Day Services, Independence Skills Management, Personal Emergency Response System, Respite Care, Assisted Living Services, Assistive Technology and Home Modifications.

Provides outpatient services include treatment and specialized therapies to manage substance abuse, assessment and treatment planning, individual and group therapy, case coordination, DUI evaluation, information and referral, and intervention services.
