Assists individuals in overcoming substance use problems, from unhealthy alcohol use to life-threatening addiction. Inpatient and outpatient programs available.

Provides an assistance program for Kankakee Township residents administered and funded entirely by Kankakee Township that provides financial assistance for rent and/or utilities. This program is an income based program primarily for adults who have no minor children in the home and are ineligible for any of the federally-funded cash grant programs.

Provides financial assistance to senior and disabled individuals with unmet needs. Services could include car repairs, eye glasses, medical equipment, dental care, or help with clothing. Senior Basket Program assists seniors with various items that cannot be acquired with food stamps. Basket varieties include things like cleaning supplies, kitchen items, or personal hygiene supplies. Two Baskets are distributed each year in the Spring and Fall.

Catholic church offering a choice food pantry. Milk, cheese, and meat also distributed. Open to the public.

Located at the lower level of the parish center; enter through the west doors.

Offers a 24-hour crisis hotline providing access to a therapist for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The therapist will talk with the person, evaluate the need for further and/or immediate services, and work to get services set up with the individual if needed.

Home delivered meals are available in those situations where a client is in need of a warm nutritious meal and they are unable to prepare their own because of illness or disability. The meals and those individuals who volunteer to deliver those meals are coordinated through various local organizations.

Also offers community based meals that provides a social atmosphere that promotes healthy interaction with others while receiving a warm meal.

Works with primary care providers who identify social/emotional or developmental concerns, family stressors, or caregiver depression during well child medical exams. If a condition is identified, the family is referred to a support specialist who provides care coordination. Specialists may provide referrals for developmental screening, mental health or behavioral health services, or other needs, and will monitor the family's progress.

Case management, client needs assessment, goal setting/plan development, and assistance to stabilize housing for individuals and families. Services vary and may include assistance with rent, utilities, rental and/or utility deposits, depending upon verification of need and progress being made on goals. Eligibility and re-certification requirements may vary by program.

Limited funding is available and only offered during certain times of the year.

Christmas food baskets, vouchers, and gifts for children.

For Christmas 2025:

Provides a child’s toy and clothing of choice, hats and gloves and coat (if needed), food for the family, and other items.

Works to influence racial justice and women's economic empowerment, promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all, including racial justice, immigrant and refugee rights, LGBTQ equality, women's empowerment, and economic justice.

Provides a drive-thru food pantry service. Items including personal hygiene products, household cleaning supplies, and school supplies (prior to the beginning of the school year) may also be available when donations of those items are received. 

Offers financial assistance for a variety of needs; call to speak with a minister and determine eligibility.

Offers to assist individuals with disabilities with finding and maintaining work. Individuals that are eligible for this program receive assistance from a Job Coach through a work experience that can last up to 6 months. In addition, individuals in this program receive assistance with resume and cover letter development, applying for work, and mock interviews.

Youth board with 30 members from 7th to 12th grade from all Buffalo County communities. Provides grants for youth-initiated and youth-led community projects.

Youth tackle a range of social problems that concern them from our economy and environment to safety, tobacco, alcohol, and illegal drugs. Applications are open in the spring for the following school calendar year term on the board. bcchp.org/yab

Offers individual counseling and tele-health counseling settings. Services cover a variety of mental health issues and topics. Therapy and supportive services include art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization/reprocessing (EMDR), peer counseling, play therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
