Provides assistance with developing resumes, applying for jobs on-line, and utilizing Job Search through the Illinois Worknet website.

Will also cover the cost of tuition and permit testing for the CDL Certification program. This area of employment has been identified as a short-term training area with high employment opportunities at a good living wage. The program is coordinated through Richland Community College, where the training is provided. Must provide a minimum of 2 pre-hire letters from potential employers before being approved for the CDL Certification program.

Several other funding sources are available for the CDL certification. Income requirements and amount of tuition paid by Empowerment Opportunity Center varies for these programs. Please call for a prescreening and to obtain information about all CDL certification options.

Provides a school for students with developmental disabilities due to physical and intellectual disabilities. The students are instructed by certified special education teachers and assisted by paraprofessionals. Also offers a variety of therapies such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, music therapy and more.

Offers psychiatric services to children ages 5 and up and adults needing the help of medication to address their mental health concerns. Services include psychiatric evaluation, psychotropic medication management, nursing support, and case management. Assistance is given by nursing staff to provide education, medication administration, medication monitoring, and medication training. Referrals and linkage to additional services/resources are provided as well to promote stabilization and enhance independent functioning.

Online service that guides users safely through every step of the citizenship application start to finish.

Informs users if they may need help from an immigration expert.

Works with lawyers from over 200 non-profit organizations to help with the citizenship process if there is a problem with a client's application. Connects clients to free, live, online legal help or a local partner organization.

Works to improve business, education, and the quality of life in the community. Plans community events and networking opportunities, supports civic programs, and funds scholarships for the entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Provides doula services to parents. Services include outreach services and in-home coaching to help them learn about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. Doulas also screen parents for maternal depression, domestic violence, parental stress, and act as a liaison with the hospital staff when necessary during the labor process. 

The family remains in the program until the child is 6-8 weeks old and then is referred to long-term home visiting services. The Doula Program also offers an 8-week Parents Care & Share Prenatal Group that connects parents to other parents and covers topics such as prenatal care, stress, nutrition, labor and delivery.

Provides recreational and social activities for seniors. Activities include bingo, cards, painting, dancing, group exercise sessions and lunches.

Offers counseling services for individuals ages 5 and older, addressing life strategies such as teamwork, character building and organization, coping skills for dealing with bullies, anger management, transitions and intervention counseling for family matters including parenting, step/blended family issues, and time management. Relationship counseling may also be available for peer, friendship, dating, parental, and personal issues. 

Services incorporate faith-based counseling approaches, integrating modern psychological methods with religious or spiritual beliefs, and may be provided by trained religious leaders or representatives in various settings.
