State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.

Advocates for and monitors the delivery of high quality and appropriate healthcare benefits and services. Assists in identifying and securing veterans benefits and other benefits for spinal cord injured and diseased veterans and others as appropriate. Promotes medical research to cure spinal cord dysfunction and other related problems. Educates society on the attitudinal, physical and legal barriers which confront persons with disabilities and influences the removal of those barriers. Provides information to and opportunities for health promotion, recreation, employment, sports, services and camaraderie for spinal cord injured and diseased veterans and others as appropriate. Provides for cooperation with and seek the support of other groups and individuals who share PVA's objectives. Housing for individuals who are defined as chronically homeless with a disabling condition are provided scattered site rental assistance and case management services.

Individuals and families are identified from the Coordinated Entry housing list.

Provides peer recovery and support services for those going through or dealing with a mental health issue. Support is also offered to family members.

Offers to help children in grades 4-12 develop knowledge and skills. Services include learning about citizenship, leadership, cooking, arts and crafts, mechanics and technology, horticulture, agriculture, and other subjects. To teach young people about these subjects, the 4-H program uses the learn-by-doing method of instruction.

Offers a food pantry to the community, with the aim of providing relief to individuals and families in need of nutritional assistance.

Used clothing store open to the public. Sells gently used clothing for men, women, and children. Store also carries small household items and some craft items.

Provides support services to individuals caring for a Veteran with serious illness or disabilities. For qualifying individuals, access to training, counseling, or respite care may be available.

Provides community members with access to affordable prescription medications, ensuring greater health and financial stability. Prescription discount cards are always free to use and are accepted at major pharmacy chains nationwide. 

Offers a variety of recreation programs for children, youth, and adults. Activities offered include archery, baseball, basketball, football, kickball, soccer, and softball.

Provides an alternative school giving students another change to succeed. Offering tools, support and different teaching methods to help students learn in the way that works best for them. 

Offers a variety of camping experiences for girls ages 5-17, including established camps and day camps. 

CAMP SACAJAWEA is located on 405 acres of wooded ravines and plateaus bordering the Des Moines River, providing opportunities for exploration and outdoor activities. 

CAMP TANGLEFOOT, situated partially along the shore of Clear Lake, spans 50 acres and features a meadow for play, forest trails for hiking, and chances to observe wildlife in the prairie and marsh. 

CAMP JOY HOLLOW, located on 360 acres in the Loess Hills north of Sioux City, is ideal for year-round indoor and outdoor troop activities. 

CAMP JULIETTE, set on 27 wooded acres within Marshalltown city limits, offers a natural environment with spring wildflowers and frequent sightings of deer. Additionally, approximately 15 day camps are held throughout the Council during the summer. 

Camperships are available to provide scholarships or tuition assistance for children and youth who may otherwise be unable to attend camp, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

Offers medical services which include, women’s health, newborns and children, school and sports physicals, adolescent care, and adult and geriatric Medicare.

Provides compassionate end-of-life care to community members wherever they call home, supporting patients and families in homes, assisted or independent living communities, nursing homes, hospitals, or a loved one’s residence.
