The division is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

​Provides a supportive, trauma-informed space where veterans and first responders can work with dogs on mutual healing and connection. The classes are flexible, stand-alone, and drop-in friendly. The program uses dog training and peer mentorship to help participants develop coping mechanisms and adapt to life's challenges, especially those stemming from service-related experiences. The sessions are structured to be a "no-judgment zone" where participants can feel safe. The program's objective is to cultivate resilience, enhance social-emotional health, and significantly reduce suicide risk for veterans and first responders.

Provides therapy for children to address physical, sensory, and social concerns, using a variety of treatments and therapeutic strategies in a friendly farm environment. Programs offered include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, equine assisted therapy, and therapeutic riding.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Issues permits for sign, billboards; construction of buildings, repair, additions, demolitions, move houses, street occupancy, zoning services, tower registration; family daycare, registration; licenses for electrical, heating, air conditioning, and plumbing.

Provides free informational materials and one-to-one assistance with questions and problems related to Medicare benefits, Medicare supplement insurance, Medicare and insurance claims, long-term care insurance, and other related issues. Offers guidance to help individuals determine the need for long-term care insurance, compare and evaluate benefit plans, select suitable policies, or explore alternative options that may better meet their needs.

Offers maternity clothing to pregnant women. 

Provides health care and specialty health care services, including mental health care. Can also provide family and internal medicine services.

Offers mental health services to individuals, groups, families and couples. Services include mental health evaluations, therapy, web therapy, diabetes focused CBT therapy, anger management and Children in the Middle classes.

Provides legal services in order to help with the following:

- Elder abuse, including financial exploitation.

- Guardianship of adults to ensure health care.

- Nursing home and home care issues.

- Powers of attorney and other advance directives.

- SSI and social security denials, cessations, terminations, overpayments, and garnishments.

Case management resources to end the cycle of poverty and establish financial stability.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in the county. State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition. Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Offers to empower male youth to make positive life choices. Program provides participants with mentor/mentee matches, weekly group mentoring sessions, graduation ceremonies and special events. Locations vary within the Polk County area, including community and school-based sites.
