Connects youth and families with resources and support. Navigators have the ability to “fill gaps”, either through helping agencies partner around a common goal, or through flexible funding for needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, and more.

Community Response is designed to reduce unnecessary involvement of child welfare and juvenile justice while increasing the informal and community supports for youth and families. By utilizing Central Navigation, the goal is to coordinate existing resources and match participants with a resource to either solve an immediate need or develop a longer-term coaching relationship.

Clinics are community outreach programs which provide early intervention services using applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is a research-supported treatment for autism spectrum disorders. The clinics offer one-on-one services for toddlers with autism and a caregiver-training program.

Provides training for a variety of work skills including interpersonal skills, attitude, cooperation, teamwork, communication skills, and time management. With the assistance of a job developer and a job coach, the client may be able to secure a job in the community.

Administers the Sharing Program which can provide assistance with Nicor gas bills, when funds are available.

Accepts in-person locations (Des Moines, Ankeny, Boone, and Indianola) accept donations of personal hygiene items & diapers/wipes. All locations except for Indianola accept non-perishable food donations as well. Cash donations are always accepted.

Provides a resident who is starting a job and needing supplies before beginning employment. (ID, Uniform, Bus Tickets, etc.).

Provides support, information, training, and referrals to unpaid caregivers (age 18+) of Champaign/Piatt County residents aged 60+.

Information about healthy aging, legal rights, access to supplemental services via referral, support groups, and other relevant education and assistance.

Possibilities for respite care included via referral.

Case management, therapy, and emergency financial assistance for unaccompanied immigrant children, refugees with acute mental/physical health needs, and survivors of gender-based violence.

Provides an evening meal.

Provides funding for needs that other programs do not cover such as clinical appointments, therapeutic programs and medications. This is a free program for Linn County children under the age of 21 who have needs related to a mental health diagnosis.

Staff in each office are knowledgeable about services provided by other agencies and institutions in each area. They network within their communities to make sure they provide the best solutions for people in need and avoid duplicating services.

Provides a mobile food pantry.

Provides dental and oral health screenings, oral health education, nutrition education relating to oral health, fluoride varnish applications and a referral to a dentist for comprehensive oral health services. The program targets pregnant women and children under age 21 who are living in Polk or Dallas Counties. For children under 21 years old, who are without dental insurance and meet income guidelines.

Provides medical and cash assistance for customers who are 65 years of age or older, blind, or disabled. Also includes the QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) program which provides payment of Medicare premiums and some Medicare co-payments.

The online application is called "Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE)."  When applying, the state will determine the applicant's eligibility for this AABD, as well as SNAP and medical assistance (Medicaid).
