Access point for the community's homeless response system for youths. Those who are at imminent risk of homelessness (with no house, apartment, etc. to stay tonight) will complete an assessment and receive help to find housing options.

Family resource program to support parents in educating and nurturing their children. The program provides parents with opportunities to move toward self-sufficiency by working with other community organizations. Health and mental health services are also provided to participants.

Program helps parents better understand their child’s stages of development with individualized visits in the home. The weekly visits are 90 minutes in length and are designed to meet the needs of each family. Staff will assist families in planning activities that encourage the child’s growth. Social activities will be held twice monthly to provide the opportunity to interact with your child and other families.

- For residents of Wymore, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Beatrice Senior Center, at (402) 223-3055 or the main office at (402) 223-1376.

- For residents of Palmyra, calls for home delivered meals must be made to the Syracuse Senior Center, at (402) 269-2957.

- For residents of Nebraska City, home delivered meals must be arranged through the city's Meals on Wheels program.

After school and summer programming for youth in grades K-12 to receive homework/tutoring assistance, appropriate behavior lessons, problem solving skills, making responsible decisions, responding to conflict appropriately, and skill-building activities in a range of subjects.

Educational and social support services to assist parents with children birth to age five. Services include home-based early childhood education, home-based supportive services, group parenting meetings, developmental screening, and planned learning activities for children. Four-year-old free preschool program.

Early Development Network provides service coordination for children, birth to three years, with disabilities or special needs to access community services. Families are linked with developmental evaluations through the schools, Nebraska Health and Human Services programs, health resources, parent-to-parent support, and other supports and services as identified by the families' priorities.

Provides free and confidential sexual assault/abuse and crime victim services to anyone that has been sexually assaulted/abused. Off-site/out-of-office services provided include trauma-informed services, counseling/therapy, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, social services and basic needs advocacy/case management, safety planning, 24/7 crisis helplines, and 24/7 crisis intervention at hospitals/law enforcement. Service plans based upon services client wants to receive.

Offers a grief support group for people who have experienced any type of loss such as death, divorce, illness, or some other source of grief. 

Offers to work with surrounding communities and businesses to develop procedures and preparations in the case of an emergency or disaster. Services include testing of sirens on the first Tuesday of every month, working with the Braidwood Nuclear Power Plant to ensure safety in case of a nuclear disaster, coordinating with the National Weather Service to notify the public in case of a severe weather alert, and working with companies in the local area that deal with hazardous materials.

Assists each client in developing a personal substance abuse recovery plan that includes a variety of skills, strategies that are taught as part of the program.

Provides engineering and design of County roadway projects, including local resurfacing and bridge replacement. The division is responsible for the maintenance of the County Secondary Road System, including ditch cleaning, roadway surface repairs, bridge and culvert repairs, and snow removal.

Offers individual counseling and tele-health counseling settings. Services cover a variety of mental health issues and topics. Therapy and supportive services include art therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization/reprocessing (EMDR), peer counseling, play therapy, and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Offers a program for parents and youth individuals ages 10-14 to work together and build relationships. Participants will practice skills, play learning games, and do family projects in highly interactive sessions. Sessions are designed to increase family bonding, build positive communication skills, and solve problems together.

Classes focus on developing skills needed to find and secure employment. Covered topics may include interviewing skills, Microsoft Word and Excel basics, building a resume, job-search basics, communication skills, first impressions, and more.

A team of navigators works to match individuals served by this program with companies/agencies who are hiring in the Omaha metro, Council Bluffs, and Fremont areas.

Ensures consumer protection and promotes the responsible use of our natural resources, also responsible for Food Safety and Animal Health divisions, including meat processing regulation, pesticide application, grain warehouses and dairy production and processing. The Weights and Measures Bureau ensures buyers and sellers are treated fairly at the gas pump, grocery store or grain elevator.
