Offers voluntary programs to eligible landowners and agricultural producers to provide financial and technical assistance to help manage natural resources in a sustainable manner. Through these programs the agency approves contracts to provide financial assistance to help plan and implement conservation practices that address natural resource concerns or opportunities to help save energy, improve soil, water, plant, air, animal and related resources on agricultural lands and non-industrial private forest land, with emphasis on market stability and commodity pricing.

Offers both short and long-term experiences for youth. Short-term experiences include afterschool programs, camps, school-sponsored activities, conferences, and other events. Long-term experiences include learning communities in agriculture such as county clubs.

Offers MEDICAID (Medical Assistance) to people who are low income and aged (65 and older), disabled (including blindness), women needing treatment for cancer or pre-cancerous conditions of breast or cervix (who have been screened and diagnosed through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection program and who do not have credible health insurance coverage), children under 21 years of age, pregnant women, parents or other caretaker relatives of children under age 18 (or under age 19 if they are attending secondary school and are expected to graduate before age 19). Medicaid will pay the costs of Health care, Dental care, In-home health care, Nursing facility care or Residential facility care.

Provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to veterans. Services include treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and OCD.

Provides a temporary visitors driver's license for non-citizens of the U.S who have been granted temporary, legal entry, and temporarily residing in the State of Illinois. 

Reimburses for funeral and burial expenses when a person's resources and all other sources of payment are less than the DHS standard payment rates. The maximum amount that DHS will pay is $1,370 for a funeral and $686 for a cremation/burial.

Provides volunteer drivers in to Story County residents with transportation to and from medical appointments and other essential services. Although not exclusive, our priority is serving Story County’s older adult population.

For Veterans who need assistance with activities of daily living (such as dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, toileting, mobility, etc.) or caregivers experiencing burden. Veterans can decide what mix of services will best meet their needs and hire their own personal care aides.

Located at the corner of Larkin Avenue and North Aldine Street, the Blessing Box (a Rubbermaid shed) has shelving with food stored.  People who are in need of food are invited to take as needed.

Food donations may be left for others in need.

RSAC Prevention Educators are available to present professional trainings to organizations, companies, agencies, and schools. Educators have curriculum for many presentations but are open to new topics.

Professional trainings offered regularly include RSAC services and referral, how to respond to disclosure, childhood abuse, typical sexual development vs. red flag behavior, responding to sexual harassment, sexual assault and abuse, play therapy and sand tray therapy, and trauma and The Window of Tolerance.

Provides support to local schools and families by providing educational services, informational and technology, and special education services for children with disabilities. 

Provides assistance with vacuuming, grocery shopping, laundry, other light housekeeping needs and errands.

Warming Center during winter weather advisories. Access to warm clothes, food, shelter, and case management will be available. Dogs allowed with proof of registration in Nebraska and a current vaccination record.

Offers a Child Health program that provides developmental screenings, help finding a doctor or dentist, lead risk assessments and lead testing, oral health services, interpretive services and referrals to other resources. MADISON COUNTY CHILD HEALTH CLINIC:

- Indianola: 1st and 3rd Mondays and Tuesdays, 4th Tuesday, First United Methodist Church, 307 W. Ashland St., Indianola

- Norwalk: 4th Monday, New Life Lutheran Church, 4380 Wakonda Dr., Norwalk

Provides a disaster relief program consisting of several basic services to address many of the typical needs of a disaster survivor. Disaster relief is flexible; services are adapted to the specific needs of individuals and communities and scalable according to the magnitude of the disaster.

Provides a bathroom, everyday essentials (such as food, water, blankets, clothing and hygiene items) and access to a caseworker to help those that are homeless rebuild their lives. Also provides clients with access to computer stations, phone booths and chargers, job assistance and housing navigation.
