SASS provides the following services for children and youth:

Crisis intervention

Short-term stabilization where a child is at risk of self-harm, or harming others

Individual and family psychotherapy/counseling

Mental health assessment

Case management and resource linkage assistance

Psychiatric services

Client choice pantry where individuals can browse food items. Meat, milk, cheese, canned goods, dry goods, and butter are all typically available.

Provides the city government departments and other city information. 

Provides nutritious lunches in a friendly, inclusive environment. Each meal includes a balanced combination of protein, vegetables, fruit, grain, and milk.

Menus are carefully designed and approved by a registered dietitian to ensure they meet 1/3 of the daily recommended intake of essential nutrients.

Some locations offer hot meal pick-up and/or delivery.  (Varies by location; see description of hours for details.)

Licensing of animals.

Lost and found reporting.

Investigates bites and attacks caused by aggressive animals, rabies, cruelty and neglect reports.

Picks up stray, injured, dead and unlicensed animals, as well as wildlife removal and assistance.

Spaying/neutering grant is limited to City of Lincoln residents with an income of 185% below poverty.

Educational programs.

Offers law enforcement services to the city of Burlington. Also offers the Crime Stoppers program. Must call to report a crime.

Offers Child Care Expense Assistance through the Iowa Department of Human services is available to the children of income-eligible parents who are absent for a portion of the day due to employment or participation in academic or vocational training or PROMISE JOBS activities. Assistance may also be available for a limited period of time to the children of a parent looking for employment. APPLY TO BE A REGISTERED CHILD CARE PROVIDER. Provides mental health and substance abuse counseling services to veterans. Services include treatment for addictions, depression, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and OCD.

Offers attendance and truancy prevention and intervention services. Truancy Specialists make contact via letter or phone call to discuss attendance concerns with parent(s)/guardian(s), conducts home visits, provides one-on-one informal attendance counseling between Truancy Specialist and student, works as a liaison between student, family, and school district, and links students and families to local area social service as needed.

Offers Credit Recovery to all districts in the coverage area and it is provided via on-line instruction. Students who have failed courses required for graduation, can be referred to TAP for Credit Recovery, contact school's guidance counselor.

Offers limited English language classes for those within the South Sudanese community. 

Provides Medicaid and Medicare-certified low cost clinics offering "one stop shop" for general health care needs.

Assists Hispanic individuals and families to obtain access to and utilize community resources.

Assists with barriers to services.

Provides Spanish/English translation and interpretation for general and medical needs.

Advocates for the local Hispanic community.

Offers workshops that teach individuals and families how to get more out of money and how to save money for financial goals. This is a series of workshops that are a blend of instruction and hands on activities so each concept can be mastered.
