Offers an 8-hour course that teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training provides the skills needed to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing and mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

Also offers a course designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Topics include depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

NAMI provides support resources for family members and individuals affected by mental illness and provides advocacy training to help the public work to improve mental health resources. NAMI Basics: A 6-session educational program for parents and caregivers of children and teens experiencing symptoms of mental illness or who have received a diagnosis.

NAMI Support Groups: Weekly peer-led groups for adults living with mental illness, as well as for family members and caregivers seeking support.

NAMI Educational Courses: Offers 3-4 times annually for individuals living with mental illness and for those who support them. 

Public Presentations- NAMI Ending the Silence: Designed for junior high and high school audiences.

NAMI In Our Own Voice: Intended for the general public, featuring personal stories of recovery shared by individuals living with mental illness.

Wellness and Recovery Drop-in Center is located on Ames, provides a welcoming, peer-led, and stigma-free environment for support and connection.

Offers programs to evaluate and treat mental health problems, including individual and group therapy, psychological testing, and anger management services. Anger management programs provide educational and therapeutic opportunities for individuals to learn positive and functional ways to manage anger, whether internalized or expressed outwardly. 

These programs may include court-ordered or voluntary sessions for individuals involved in domestic violence or child abuse, as well as general workshops for those seeking to improve their anger expression.

Provides education programs for middle and high schoolers about mental illnesses and warning signs. In our own voice program services provide personal perspective of mental health conditions. Family to family program offers a 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses and education with various subjects such as mental illnesses, addictive disorders, medications, side effects, and strategies for medication adherence. 

Professional Partner program serves children, adolescents, and young adults who have serious emotional disorders and their families; provides intensive therapeutic case management program tailored to meet the needs of each youth and family.

Emergency Community Support program provides follow-up, continuity, and coordination services for individuals who have been admitted to emergency or civil protective custody.

Regional Housing Coordination provides rental assistance for adults who are low income and experience a serious mental illness to obtain safe housing at an affordable cost; must have referral from a community support worker or other behavioral health worker.

Regional Consumer Specialist (RCS) serves as an advocate and liaison to consumers of behavioral health services, including consumers of services which are designed to lead toward wellness and recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, or problem gambling; the RCS is available to consumers of all ages, their families and support system, throughout Region 3's geographic area.

Disaster Behavioral Health Outreach, Counseling and Training for flood impacted counties (Buffalo, Custer, Hall and Howard) and for individuals impacted by COVID 19 for all 22 counties in Region 3.
