Provides a variety of services for and related to support groups, such as:

- Refer individuals to appropriate groups.

- Help new groups form.

- Conduct courses and workshops for group leaders.

- Provides consultation to existing groups.

- Educates public about self-help.

- Publishes the Support Group Directory and specialized list of groups.

Offers an information line operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Provides health information, triage, physician and service referrals over the phone for individuals in need of medical advice. Can also refer individuals to medical locations and urgent care centers.  Support groups offered through Iowa Health Systems: for example, breast feeding education & support group, parents of children with ADD, grief support for parents whose child died, and others.
