We lift up the unique voices of youth through creative expression.  Summer Rock Camps - Two weeks of music, education, rehearsal, performance, and community. GR!T Records Creative Technologies Camp - A week-long gig where campers learn about audio engineering, recording artistry, music production, self-record their original songs, and produce an album. Unplugged Weekend Retreat - A weekend getaway focused on writing and performing original work. Monthly Youth Open Mics - the only music & youth-centered one in the state. GR!LIVE - This series demonstrates our continued effort to recover marginalized narratives of women in music, reclaim herstories, and recapitulate music genres for a new generation's liberation of expression; this consists of a concert by local artists, herstory of trailblazing, women musicians, and a "how-to" play a specific style of music, taught by showcased artists. A variety of year-round workshops. Silver Chords Leadership Program - A mentorship program for high school students to earn Silver Cord hours, and rockers the opportunity to learn an instrument, form a band, write a song, and perform at a venue. We will extend our afterschool program, with this grant. GR!T Studio - professional-grade recording studio utilized to teach audio engineering and build the less than 5% representation of women, nonbinary, & trans folx in media production fields. We've been recording our own albums, in-house, since 2019. We are interested in developing & recording emerging artists, and bringing seasoned musicians to the mentorship table with this programming. Performances: xBk, Wooly's, Arts Fest, Warren-Morrow Latin Music Festival, 80/35, Waukee Arts Fest, Muse Fest, Lefty's, Ingersoll Live, World Food & Music Festival, Street Heat, Kum & Go Theatre, Variety - The Children’s Charity Telethon, IPR , and other community events. Instrument Library - check out an instrument, then return it when you're finished.
