Barbara Olson Center of Hope
Provides developmental training and support to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Provides an appropriately structured environment that encourages participants to function optimally in the least restrictive setting, whether vocational, social, or community. Programs may include:
-Sensory motor activities.
- Occupational therapy.
- Vocational skills.
- Job training.
- Volunteer and employment options in a safe and supportive environment.
- Drop-in program for participants who do not have funding yet (Project Leisure).

Social Security’s Ticket to Work program supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries age 18 through 64 who want to work. The Ticket program is free and voluntary. The Ticket program helps people with disabilities progress toward financial independence.

Goodwill Industries, Inc., Serving Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa
Offers a national pre-apprenticeship educational, leadership, development and occupational skills-training program for disadvantaged and at-risk youth ages 16–24. This community-based pre-apprenticeship program provides job training and educational opportunities for youth who previously dropped out of high school.
In the program, young adults learn vocational skills in construction and provide community service through the required construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing for low-income or homeless families in their own communities. Youth split their time between the vocational training work site and the classroom, where they earn their high school diploma or equivalency degree, learn to become community leaders, and prepare for post-secondary training opportunities, including college, apprenticeships and employment. YouthBuild includes significant support systems, such as mentoring, follow-up education, employment and personal counseling services; participation in community service; and civic engagement.

Two types of Bus Driver courses:
- 8-hour initial training is required for all new school bus drivers prior to getting a bus permit.
- 2-hour refresher workshop is required in the 12 month period prior to renew a school bus permit.

Financial assistance may include program tuition and books, required fees, materials and other services. The program provides resources to Iowa residents who would otherwise not be able to afford career training.
