Baby TALK
Provides GED classes for parents with children birth through 3 or who are pregnant. Provides a parenting class and a high level of child-care for children while the parent attends academic classes. Visits the library together regularly and provides opportunities for parents and children to learn together. Wraparound services include, transportation, Case Management, parent education, and home visits.

- ESL (English as a Second Language) program for individuals who speak, read, and write best in a language other than English and wish to improve their English language skills. Courses range from entry-level English to college-prep English.
- HiSET and High School Completion Center, providing testing and preparation for high school equivalency.
- Adult Literacy program offering opportunities for adults to enhance literacy skills and refresh basics in reading, writing, and math. Classes are available at various locations in and around Des Moines in collaboration with local schools and organizations.
- Citizenship Education programs that prepare individuals to take the oath of U.S. citizenship and understand the rights and responsibilities of citizenship. These courses help immigrants gain knowledge of American culture, institutions, and ideals, as well as U.S. history, the Constitution, and the structure and functions of government.

Also offers regular programming for all ages, including story times, book groups, seasonal reading programs, and a community English Language Learning program.
Coralville and rural Johnson County residents may also check out mobile wi-fi hotspots and request interlibrary loans for items the library does not own. Reference and reader’s advisory services available. Public computers, scanner, photocopier, televisions, study spaces, and free wi-fi are offered on-site. Meeting rooms are available for use by non-profit organizations.
Services include an on-site free community fridge and harm reduction vending machine. Our Community Resources Navigator is available for one-on-one assistance and consultation. Homebound delivery services may be available to residents of Coralville.

Homework Assistance Program provides tutoring sessions for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old.
