Voucher meals are a supplementary meal offering in select locations in the service area at local restaurants, to help provide meals on weekends or during irregular schedules, and promotes small business. Participants will be able to use a voucher ticket to get an entree, fruit, vegetable, and bread.

Additionally, assists veterans in applying for compensation and pension programs. Eligibility requires the veteran to have an honorable discharge, have served 90 days or more of Federal active duty, and be a county resident.

Provides assistance to individuals and families who are facing a crisis situation with food and/or shelter. Homeless prevention services can assist families who are facing eviction or utility disconnection in preventing their family from becoming homeless. Crisis funds may be available for one month’s rent, utilities, or groceries for a short period of time. This assistance is intended for individuals and families who need temporary, one-time assistance to resolve an emergency situation.

Provides assistance to residents who are needy and poor and in need of immediate assistance and who cannot obtain assistance from any other source. Recipients must be at least 18 years of age and meet current income and resource guidelines.

Assistance may be provided for rent, utilities, or indigent burial, to name a few. A voucher system is utilized with direct payment to the vendor, never cash. General Relief is unable to assist with deposits or first month rent payments.

May be able to assist with emergency food, fuel, shelter (vouchers), utility bills (sometimes available), must have children in the home. Gas vouchers for medical appointments or getting to and from work may be available. All services dependent on available funding.

Provides coupon booklets to assist older adults with purchasing fruits and vegetables. Coupons can be used at local Farmers Markets and roadside stands at approved locations. Booklets are distributed during the normal business hours of local senior citizen center and booklet recipients receive a list of approved market sites.
