Emphasis is on pain and symptom control so the patient may live their last months and weeks in comfort with dignity. The majority of patients are cared for in their own homes but hospice care is also available in long term care facilities, hospitals or at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines or EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston.
